Not that it matters to us, but Stanley Johnson is refusing to workout for Charlotte. Trying to get to either Detroit at #8 or slip to Miami at #10. A little weird that he'd want Detroit, but not Charlotte.

It has to be a done deal with Towns as told to him by MN. Why else would he diss being picked #2 by the Lakers if he wasn't sure. STILL, wow that seems a bit of a gamble as it can only be their word and a handshake and what if they change their mind at the last minute and don't take Towns. He doesn't work out for the Lakers, I doubt we take him? But it makes me happy because we get Okafor. DO NOT GET CUTE, please, Lakers F.O.

Okafor NOT working out solo (at least that's how I read it):

Smart move, give Okafor a big, non-Madsen guy to go against. Lakers should get an idea of what he can do against opponents with similar size to him. For Russell they should bring in at least a handful of guys and let him play a little...he needs 3 v. 3 at least to fully show off his passing skills.

Good. Hope they do the same with Russell...

LOL. What? They forgot one thing to check him out on in the first workout? Why when you have him there a 2nd time would it not be longer? I may have to email Mitch and see what the heck is going on with Okafor. Remind him not to get cute. [IMG]

^You shouldn't worry. He probably impressed them even more and reassured the scouting department/management he's the right choice. Quite frankly, I'd be 'shocked' if we went anybody other than Okafor at this point...

Interesting. I wonder if that's good or bad? I didn't hear how quickly (or not) Mudiay's went.

All signs seem to point that way. The only problem is...

    we've got a week to kill. :D

You got that right. I'm going insane as it is with this process. The lottery, the draft, free agency. I'm going nuts over here

It's surprising that at 19 he's already considered a broken defensive player.

We do need a plan on defense, but just focus on offense for a second - with Okafor, Kobe, and Randle on the team, can you double? That's one of the reasons I like Harris so much - he was consistently doubled in Orlando, and he was effective against the double. You simply can't double four players well. It's sort of why we need JC to improve his three and we also need to bring on players who can stick threes.
