Kind of a weird pickup to me as we have too many guards as is, but I assume they think his shooting will come back, and he knows Vogel’s system and was good in it a year ago. Might be ok, but I’m very skeptical.
Guessing Ennis wouldn't take a non-guaranteed deal. Bradley was desperate and would. We like the ability to pair him with some of our limited defenders: Ellington, Monk, Nunn, Russ, THT? Guess he had a change of heart
Well as much as …… sucked with his me first attitude and demands, and disappearing literally and offensively when we needed him most …. once back ….. he did give us what AB did the year before in the speed and lateral quickness to have a chance at slowing down and harassing the PGs on opposing teams. Even if he’s lost a step he’s probably better than anyone else we have (though not including Russ [honestly don’t personally know how good he is in that regard or how much stamina regular season Rondo will have] or how good Monk and Nunn are at it)
I don't think this was necessary, and he's probably out once THT comes back. We needed to sign a bigger wing, not a small guard. He can only play some (questionable?) defense at this point. His 3pt shot is non-existing right now. What did he do in the preseason? 4/1/1 shooting 39% from the field and 22% for 3. Why in the world would he get any minutes over Reaves?
i know this is just a temporary signing until THT gets back, but what's with the reluctance to sign another wing guy? weird
I don't like it. Our lack of size is a concern, I don't like this 3-guard setup I don't think he can bring anything to the me that we can't get with others
I can't wait for tomorrow night when the Lakers lose and everyone starts yelling that Russell is a bust.... I can feel it....
yeah, i don't think people are prepared for how this season is likely to start. i may stay away from this place for a few weeks, tbh. gs has played with the same system and many of the same key players for years. they should beat our a** in game 1. if they don't, i'm guessing kerr will be disappointed. as for bradley, it seems like we're signing him as a stopgap due to injuries, and he'll be cut later. i'm also guessing he knows this, and that his familiarity with vogel's system is why he got the nod here.
Do you like: 1. Who Bradley is now 2. Who Bradley used to be 3. Who Bradley might become if he can knock all the rust off of not playing much in over two years
Pretty excited he's back I'm a firm believer in team chemistry and continuity. He hasn't been here in 18 months but he was above average for the most part in fitting with Lebron, AD, Dwight and brings familiarity to this group. He brings some of the defensive elements we miss with Caruso gone. Start him.
I don’t exactly know who/how he is now but I loved him before the bubble. He was actually my favorite non star (AD, Lebron). He looked pretty decent kicking our @$$ on GS in preseason when I saw him. He looked better than Ellington did in his short stint with us so far. Basically he’s a defensive minded guard and we no longer have that on the team since Caruso and KCP are gone. I like that.
LJ, he had 3/3/2 and shot 20% from the field. Well, there was that other game when he had 5/2/2 in 7 minutes... but those are all the minutes he played. I don't know, I don't think he has it anymore, but hopefully I'm wrong.
Yeah I think we get off to a rough start the first couple of games. Thankfully their are a number of games through November that we should be able to win just off the strength of LeBron and AD.
I’m kind of indifferent on bringing in Bradley especially since I don’t expect him to be around once our Injured guys come back.
You absolutely can't start someone who wasn't here for Vegas, training camp, or pre-season. This isn't the same team and play a very different way than last time he was here, even if Rob tried to bring back as many of those guys as possible. He's a temp and will likely be gone by Feb. and that's if Ariza's injury drags out. He couldn't shoot with Houston and seems that followed him to GS. You MUST have shooters next Russ. He can see the court next to our shooters who need covering for defensively. That's a perfect bandaid role for him, IF he can crack our 8 guard deep rotation in the back court.
