Yeah and an ankle ….. how uncommon for a basketball injury. Probably age related.

We'll talk around PO time. I'll be shocked if he plays more than 35-40 games this season...

I predict Cacok is going to light us up today since no one else on the Nets is playing.

We’ve got both Dwight and DJ playing though, right? Rebounds and mixing it up down low for those is Devonte’s thing. They’ll have something for him I’d think. ;)

Boards will be our biggest issue this year.

We have all our forwards out, so we are running 4 guards and a center lineups. I imagine it will happen throughout the season too, with AD at the 5 and Russ

Monk and THT standing out so far, by halftime

Rebounding? I don’t really see how that will be the case.

Our 4’s (Lebron, Melo and AD) and 5’s (AD, Howard and DJ) are all good to great rebounders and then we’ve got one of the best rebounders in the league in Westbrook.

You can't count AD twice, and he is not that good of a rebounder actually, but yeah we have him, Lebron and the centers, together with Russ. I don't see a problem in the starting lineup, but throughout the game, with AD at the 5 and playing with Melo/Ariza and a combo of THT, Monk, Ellington, Nunn or Bazemore. Even if you have Lebron or Russ out there too, I think we will get punished.

    We shall see

I don't really see the worry. I think rebounding will be our strength and I expect us to be a top 10 team here.

In general it's the bigs that get the majority of rebounds in the game. Our bigs, more often than not, are going to out rebound the other team's.

We have DJ and Howard who are great rebounders at the 5. AD is a good rebounder at the 5 and a great one at the 4. Lebron is a great rebounder at the 3 or 4. Melo is a good rebounder at the 4. Bazemore and Ariza are average at the 3. Rondo is a great rebounder at the 1.

And lastly we have a hulk, I mean a Westbrook. He was the 6th best rebounder last season in the NBA from the PG position - generally his teams rebound very well.

So, I'm not really concerned with how well THT, Nunn, Ellington or Monk rebound at the 1 or 2. It's not like other teams have better rebounders at their 10-13th best rebounder spots anyway.

I don't think there's anything to worry about rebounding. Yesterday looked rough because our bigs were playing with guards who aren't known for their rebounding abilities. We had SGs playing PF. If Dwight or DJ got boxed out or were on the other side, there was no one there to successfully battle the Nets under the rim, who were gang rebounding.

Based on what I saw yesterday, I think Dwight and DJ will thrive in their roles as soon as we throw a little size back into the rotation. AD, Bron, and Russ are damn good rebounds....Bron and Russ are elite rebounders at their position. At least one of them will be fighting for a rebound every play so there's a chance to push the pace.

Of the things to be concerned about this season, rebounding isn't one of them.

IMO, we simply lacked playmaking yesterday.

I don't get why Lebron, Russ, and Carmelo didn't play yesterday. They are all healthy and had months to rest. I get it's the pre-season, but even if they played just the first half it would have been better.
