    I don’t know what Ballmer’s problem is. What do you get by pissing off Laker fans? You don’t get fans to switch sides by talking trash to them. You’re building your own arena, good it should have happened a long time ago. But you still play in LA, which will always be a Laker town. If he doesn’t like it, move your team to Seattle.

    I decided to check out a slip game at the Sports Arena in ‘87, so I dropped in and found a great cheap seat from a scalper. The 1986-87 was the season where they managed to outclip themselves and suck in unimaginable ways even to flipper fans. It turned out to be the worst season in their history. I looked up the game because it wasn’t hard to find. They only won 12 games that season, and I saw one of those wins. The Benoit Benjamin slips beat the Malone and Stockton Jazz.

    That place was just sad. Pitiful. I could hear everything the players were yelling at each other in front of me, and everything all the drunks and cranks were yelling behind me. Crazy f***ing place.

    it's hard to believe that place was hosting NBA basketball just a little over 20 years ago

    watching old videos of the clippers games there, it very much resembles a high school gym

    Threatened by what exactly? This past year the Clippers literally advanced to the Conference Finals for the first time in their franchise’ history and they’re celebrating like they actually won something. We’re talking about the Lakers, arguably the greatest franchise in sports that has won 17 championships and they’re supposed to be threatened by a team that has not even won a single title?
