I didn't watch the clip but I read from various NBA scouts that have pretty much confirmed what Sirron said before he was ever traded to us. The overall consensus seems to be he's not going to be an NBA player

Most likely correct. Though the franchise that had both Gasol brothers thought there “might” be something there. I just said he gets up and down the floor quick. And it would be interesting /fun to have seen him in Summer league and on the G-league team with access to Lakers level skills and conditioning coaching. Most all of guys in G league won’t ever play in the NBA.

Plus this breakdown doesn’t scream “not a chance”. Why I mentioned G league and Lakers coaching.

I always look into new players introduced into the Lakers organization and what scouts and others have to say about them with first hand knowledge. Obviously they're not always right but for the most part they are. Take everything with a grain of salt

Sure. Of course! Is there anything specifically I said in last few posts you disagree with? How about the report @IE Lakers linked that I reposted above?

Everything lol. I kid I kid..

Methinks he's just kind of a throw in to a trade that helped the Griz pick up a 2nd rounder for someone they're just going to cut anyways. Was reading about how the Griz have really been there through a lot of trades with the Lakers and have helped us tremendously over the years. Even though I remembered all those transactions between the two it didn't really sink in until I read that article how big the Griz have been for the Lakers in terms of our dealings. It was almost painted in a negative light by windhorst although I may be reading too much into it

Yeah I get all that. Doesn’t change the fact a guy his size with his particlar set of attributes, who is pegged to be China’s number one center for international competition for years to come, “best since Yao” ….. does also get up and down the court quickly … AND would be interesting to take a look at in Summer league next year and maybe on the South Bay team to see what “our” coaches and facilities “might” be able to do with him.

I watched quite a few of his available highlight reels right now. He'll never make an NBA roster and I'd be more then willing to bet on it. I posted 3 videos of him playing in China and what I see as a quick set of Pros and Cons. Also, him being 27 already and the fact that the Griz included him says quite a bit as well. If he was a highly touted prospect they would have kept him and added in another player. I think he was filler just to get this deal done

OK. What do you want from me? To say it wouldn’t be interesting to see what our staff and facilities might be able to do with him?

No. I don’t believe that. (that it wouldn’t be “interesting”). IF he was willing to come and try G-league just for a shot betting on himself no guaranteed NBA minimum money to see if he could actually make it to the END of our NBA roster (think Cacock) in another year even, then I’d like to see what we could do with our coaches and if his self confidence and his work ethic were up to it. Only that way though.

I think that would be dope if he were to take that chance and see if he has what it takes to compete even at the G league level. You gotta admire someone for testing themselves for sure. He's just past the stage where anyone is gonna give him a chance to play regularly or even at all at the NBA level. Nothing against the guy or you just being real that's all
