I think our 2nd unit is gonna be hard to deal with. I can see Bron starting and then Russ staying on to play with the 2nd unit. I mean it will almost be a 2nd starting squad with Russ at the helm and all the additions we have made. I'm glad I'm not Vogel right now with all these decisions he's gonna have to make minutes wise. Nice to be able to have a deep bench but hard to tell certain guys they're not gonna play.
I like Nunn to manage the second unit with Rondo as an insurance policy until the playoffs. Nunn, Horton-Tucker (interchangeable with Bazemore), Ariza, Anthony and Howard...Anthony being the main scoring option.
I think Russ is gonnanget a lot of time with that 2nd unit too, he still has quite a bit of gas and plays a ton of minutes. He can carry us with shooters around him while Bron and AD rest. I hope Rondo plays very few minutes so our youngsters can play as much as possible. I want to seen THT develop
I feel like I have zero grasp on the combinations we are going to use besides the big 3. Those guys are starters, but will they be staggered so two are on the floor at all times? Who do they mix and match with? I feel like I have no idea. I fully admit I don't really like the mercenary approach to building a team each year. So much turnover. Nice to be competitive, but it's a whole new roster. No home grown guys to root for except THT right now. G leaguers should have zero impact this year or next.
I'm just glad we're having a regular season with training camp and pre season to figure all this out. I know it'll change multiple times during the season. But will greatly help having a normal off season.
Absolutely. We have the option of basically having all start starters on the 2nd unit. Not too many teams with that luxury
This can’t be understated. It seems like ages since we’ve had a normal NBA season and post season, summer league, all the summer speculating, a real training camp, pre-season, and Opening Day. The cosmic cycle is falling back into alignment.
Not FAT ... not funny. He knows Frank and AD and LeBron will all be on him to play D. Good for him. I expect a good year from him.
I would say 35 is the new 32 and 37 is the new 34. It’s like yesteryear’s last decent impactful season or two before you sail off into the sunset. Melo looks great.
yeah, i'm impressed with his appearance, for sure. we'll see how it looks on the floor. i know he hasn't forgotten how to shoot.
Carmelo’s offensive ability with Lebron’s athleticism and play making is about as close as you get to a perfect wing
Sometimes you wonder how good some guys could’ve been if they had Kobe’s work ethic. I used to think that no records would exist if Shaq had Kobe‘s work habits and dedication. seeing Me7o “finally” fit so late in his career makes me wonder if he was capable of so much more.
