Actually, I think Westbrook would benefit of Gasol through his off-ball movement
We would need to trade Westbrook.

I’d be interested to see if Love gets the same “anti-Love” that our centers on our roster have gotten since Marc’s arrival. Will the cries and demands that Marc be the starter be the same?

would they be as loud as the cries for gasol to be retired because AD and lebron got hurt?

important question, though: how are love's dunks? pretty good? or is he washed? am i doing it right?

Odd and irrelevant question. If we had both Marc should still start. “Since Marc’s arrival” …. AD got no anti love to start, he doesn’t want to nor should he regular season. Trez is not a starting center. Damian Jones was not brought in to be the starting center in his short stint. If Gasol is still here, hopefully for me, Dwight is not a starting center. Trying to replace Dwight last year with Drummond it was done in the worst possible way, enticing him to come by promising the starting position, when as the team was being built for the year “assuming the health” of all our key players and what each was expected to contribute from their repertoire of skills to make it all click Marc was the guy and promised the slot. Drummond completely on his own earned the anti love watching what’s left of his game in far less years since he’s come in than Marc. Including the skills he never had “to make it all click” the way Rob had it planned.

Gasol is garbage and shouldn't be a starter anywhere in the NBA period. The Lakers are the only team to even offer this dude a contract, now he is some kind of essential piece? Nonsense

Bollocks to that take and we never got to see the full team function last year in full heath to see the utility of why Rob brought him here to start. Your simplistic opinion hating on him ignores the skills he still clearly possesses. Nonsense? Pot meet kettle.

And why are you still replying in this thread when we were asked to take it to the Gasol thread and there’s the quote function?

Ok, both a Mod and an Admin have posted about not continuing the Gasol debate in this thread, but taking it to the Gasol thread.

    ...and yet it continues.

Any further Gasol argument posts here I am going to delete.

To “me” …. about posting that here too, also pot meet kettle above, sorry, forgot where I was reading the same old stuff. My bad.

Though reading back can see it was triggered on last page by new info talking about Kevin Love which was in the right place.

@TIME this post (mine) isn't solely about Marc here.

Starting roles should be earned on play not what you've done in the past and that goes for everyone across the board period. You don't get to start because you were told when you came here you'd be starting. If you're bringing the team down and not producing you don't start simple as that. Nunn, Ellington, Bazemore, THT are all going to be fighting for starting minutes. Whoever earns those minutes with solid production, I'm with it even if that's Gasol. Any decent coach worth his salt is gonna start his 5 best players that work together and compliment each others game for winning basketball. That doesn't always mean the most talented guys will start either

Again may disagree on things which is natural but we all want the same thing which is to win. I love the back and forth but at the end it's all love

What does starting, minutes played etc. have to do with the title of this thread which is about free agents and trade. We have 2012-22 Depth Chart thread or each individual player thread that would be a better place to post. No one wants to see this free agent thread bumped everyday and read 3 pages of Marc Gasol discussion. All the players mentioned above are no longer free agents. Please be considerate and try to keep threads on topic.

No problem Cookie. Was just replying to something that was already posted here in regards to the recent FA acquisitions and starting minutes for anyone but I digress.

how much did kemba give up in his buyout? do we know?

edit: just looked it up: 20 million! he got 16 back from ny, though.

guessing cleveland doesn't want all that dead money (okc has 25 million per in dead cash the next two years now) and love couldn't find enough of an offer from a different team to justify seeking the buyout.

he'll get bought out or used as salary ballast in trade next year, i guess.

Love will probably be a hot commodity next season at the trade deadline. He will have received about 45 million out of that 60.
