Well Magic coming here was the first step to get to the point we're at right now. Yeah he left in a bad way but he got Lebron here, and Magic here meant that Mitch and Jim were no longer here which is important. We're not at this point if Magic hadn't joined.
Yes he probably contributed to us getting LeBron. We don't know how big his impact was but probably he was one of the pro arguments. What we do know however is how he went out shi***ng all over the organization on national TV TWICE right before the most important free agency in I don't even know how long, probably since 1996 (was it then that Shaq joined?). He can go f**k himself now, not a grain of props deserved, in the big picture he probably did more harm than he did good. I hope he's never again employed in any capacity by the Lakers.
It's sad to see all of these former pros who just can't let go and need kudos desperately Magic Paul Pierce KG so many others
I loved him during his playing days and things away from the court, his smile and infectious attitude. Anything to do with the FO though, no thanks. He's worse then a kid who just got told they can't play their playstation or when he can't get his way.
This sounds awful. Magic sucks at basketball commentary, Wilbon is old and get off my lawn crotchety, and Stephen A is a loudmouth with bad takes.
Wilbon has MJ's proverbial (bleep) in his mouth 24/7. Only one worse than him is Doug Collins. Magic wants to please everyone, that's why he gets himself in these situations. It just seems that sports are just not doing smart things anymore. They fall in line with this agenda driven BS and you leave out the talented people and bring in those who obey. That's all it is. Easiest thing to do is not watch.
I agree and disagree. There are a lot of commentators out there that bring on fun debate that I don't always necessarily agree with but bring to light different viewpoints that I hadn't considered. There has always been an influx of schills, that's never gonna change. Your estimation of Wilbon could be compared to Magics misguided view of the Lakers as well. I love that he is diehard as hell for the team but doesn't mean his views are correct and sometimes he says some downright stupid crap. That's one reason I loved Chick, he would always tell it like it was. If the Lakers sucked or made bad moves he would speak on it with the same fervor he used when praising them. There was no bias, which is essentially nonexistent in todays media.
