I read that in Chick Hern's voice. It made me laugh for quite a while. Especially since the word too trailed off for a long time in my head.

From what I understand, he’s completely washed up and Brooklyn only signed him because he’s very good friends with their stars. They soon learned during last season that he was unplayable.

His skillset is also redundant with Dwight here. He’s pretty much a worse version of Dwight. Even if we do end up parting ways with Gasol, I don’t think Jordan makes the most sense as a replacement. I’d rather take Boogie, someone who can somewhat replace Gasol’s floor spacing.

    I agree 100%

Boogie played good last year in limited minutes and if he gets hurt again we can get a player exemption right or sign him to a non guaranteed

Boogie is now three years removed from his Achilles injury, and two years removed from his ACL. He hasn't suffered any significant injury recently, I think physically, he is about as sound as he's going to be. He's still more athletic today than Marc Gasol, Marc can't even dunk anymore.

It's difficult to dunk standing at the three point line.

I don't care how good a fit DeAndre Jordan is on paper. He's washed up Clipper trash. I don't want him in our locker room.

    Washed trash?

Like how many are down for drinking the recycled poo water that scientists can prove (I'm guessing) is safe?

Nah ..Gasol is a poor man's Cousins. I think we expected less attitude from Gasol...until he threw a hissy fit about signing Drummond.

again, if you ignore contributing to winning, i guess. but it's clear that the anti-gasol crowd doesn't.

gasol's teams are better when he's on the floor than are cousins's.

our FO signed gasol and let cousins walk because they knew that.

Mistake number 1. We should have signed Cousins and Howard instead of Gasol and Harrell IMO.
Gasol's teams may have simply been better than Cousins teams, that doesn't necessarily mean that it was due to Gasol or Cousins though. We gave Montrez more run at 5 than Gasol when AD went out. We also scoured the league for another big, perhaps that was because Gasol wasn't delivering the goods? You can fall back on the Gasol with AD and Lebron stuff for 30 games, if you want to. More telling to me was Trez getting the run at 5 with AD out, and Dudley's comments about Gasol increasing his effort level once Drummond was brought in. The guy is totally overrated by some fans..he is a shell of who he once was. That was evident in Toronto to me.

this is why we have the advanced/configural stats.

it wasn't a mistake. gasol was and is better.

he's a shell of his dpoy days in toronto. and still better than post-achilles cousins. these two things are possible, and in fact, true.

he's also been better than howard or mcgee.

trez is an interesting case. he grades out better than all of them, but does so in a very specific, non-starting role. for 82 games in the regular season, i take trez over howard, mcgee, or cousins. not as a starter, though. for that, i'll take gasol.

gasol/trez was actually WAY better than mcgee/howard. what wasn't better was shell of AD and half a season of lebron and AD. the weird obsession that fans have with trying to pin the lack of a title on the center rotation changing confounds me. our stars were hurt. if they weren't, we'd have coasted to a second title.

know who's overrated by fans: drummond. and howard (whom i like, let me repeat). but there's a reason he's bouncing around on minimums despite his ability to still dunk and have very big muscles.

I suppose Vogel and the FO were incapable of deciphering those advanced stats you referenced. Gasol was benched for a reason, he wasn't producing. Basketball is still a very simple game, it can be micro analyzed to death these days. Of course AD and Lebron are the main reason we fell short. Fwiw no.. the center position wasn't going to save the day regardless of who we had. Drummond was better than Gasol tho IMO.That being said, we will just have to continue to disagree on the subject of Marc Gasol. The guy is washed, he was washed in Toronto, that's why they didn't offer him a contract. He was washed here, that's why we benched him. I don't expect him to be here when the season starts. However you may still find some stats, that convince you that every one has it wrong, and Gasol's play, was actually much better than it looked.

Rondo would make a good candidate for a coaching spot one day. He can fill some of the locker room leadership lost with Dudley leaving. He is not the gregarious type of personality of Jared, but his hoop knowledge is widely respected. On the court though, I wouldn't expect much, but injuries happen, as long as he isn't one of them, he could be an asset.
