The memory is from watching every game or listening to every game since coming to Southern California. But I had a good grasp on the history even before then.... Before I moved to San Diego in 1996, I only watched the Lakers when they were on prime time on TNT or the networks. I still remember changing the channel at my aunts house and seeing KCAL or prime ticket showing the Lakers and hearing Chick Hearn, wondering, wait a minute, the Lakers are on TV every other day? I can watch all the games?!!! From there, I was hooked. That was even before Directv and all the other ways you could stream or watch the games. So, when the Lakers started winning titles, it was even more intense. I'd listen and watch EVERY thing. My brain absorbs sports facts and history very quickly as well. I don't know why but it's just how my brain works. I know every super bowl winner and mvp, every nba champ and who won the MVP without looking for it. During the 3 peat era, I just loved that team. It had everything you wanted. Amazing players, tough players, they had the look, the swagger, the Hollywood attitude, I mean everything. So, that era is very vivid and I will go into more detail on that as we do more shows. That era was more than just Kobe and Shaq feuding, there was so much more good stuff than bad that no one talks about or knows about. Remember, if any of you want some info for me to throw out there, post or PM me anytime. I will say this, it's very likely this site will get an influx of people as time goes on. Gerald is legit. He has Hollywood connections and is very organized. Above all that, even in the limited time I've known him, he is extremely nice. Just respectful nice person. This is going to work and it will get legs into the main stream.....
Just want to chime in with everyone else about the great job @OX1947 and @Lakers Fast Break did on the podcast. Very well put together and kept it interesting.
Thanks so much, @Barnstable @karacha @Cookie @KareemtheGreat33 for the kind words and for listening to the program. I am looking forward to continuing the conversations with @OX1947 and the lakersball.com community!
Dude OX can really break it down. Impressive. Would love to see more OX and other LB members chop it up.
Haven't been able to fully listen to it yet, but think it's great. I can see other members jumping in and participating as well. And you know LT is holding back on lighting and camera angle suggestions hahaha. Production quality only enhances the actual content, but if the content stinks, no amount of production quality can help. This is a great start.
I already politely suggested OX needed to step his lighting game up …. as in some, any? Go OX good stuff. He walked his talk.
You’re right. Gerald seems legit, and a cool person as well. And you did a great job too, Ox. Nice work, both, and welcome to the Laker loony bin, Gerald. Glad you’re here.
I would love to have on @abeer3 @svtzr or anyone else in the lakersball.com community. I have reached out to @OX1947 and am looking to do something soon. Please reach out if interested lakersfastbreak@yahoo.com or @lakersfastbreak on Twitter! I am trying to get in more interviews over the next week for upcoming episodes. Let me know lakersball community!
Gerald and I will be on tomorrow night at 9pm, Sunday, 8-15-2021. Topics we will be discussing, Top 10 all-time Lakers. Most intriguing player coming in this summer and biggest threats in the West. I'll have some surprised answers for these.....
…. you’re trying to make me say it aren’t you, you want OX annoyed with me. OK this is on you. With the utmost respect I’d just suggest that OX’s face was red and too dark. He’s told us it trends toward brown. My from the hip thought is that he was only getting light from the screen. Just needs an additional source to brighten it up.
