only saw the highlights above, but reaves did look great. was surprised by his work on defense, actually. he's a smart, scrappy guy with some skill and smarts. pretty decent size, too. brown looks like an nba player. don't think he will be for us, but he looks ready to play right now. who was #50?
Was 50 the pretty big guy? I think it was. Finally got a glimpse of his name as sound was frustratingly out most of the 1st half, it was Simpson I think. Pretty big 4 who could move?
looked it up. yoeli childs. poor guy was born a decade or two late. could have been a power 4 like david west in the old days. really nice touch on his jumper for a guy that big. but he's only 6'8". need to be 6'10" or bigger to play in the nba at his speed now, imo.
Was just coming back with that, sorry for misinformation. Here's the roster and their numbers. Didn't see that 7'2" Romaro Gill last night, wonder why. https://www.nba.com/lakers/releases/lakers-announce-summer-league-2021-roster
For real. I like him! He wasn't in the closing lineup though. Ayayi had 0pts in 22min, not good. Reaves was ok too, based on highlights and box score But I can see McClung having a future in the league as a TJ McConnell, I love those guys, hope he develops I don't see any of our SL roster having minutes in the season. Maybe Cacok who looked good yesterday
Reaves still looking good as well with some AC in him. Could use some of AC’s muscle mass as well. Hopefully likes to work out.
Why is our 7 footer Gill not getting any run I wonder? Nothing game 1 and 1 minute against the Kings.
thanks for posting these; no time to watch these full games lately. reaves continues to impress me. agree that his body needs some work, but i think he might be a real steal. ayayi's skillset isn't going to shine on this stage, but that block he had was something. still not that sold on mcclung. big knock is that he's not a pg/doesn't have the instincts, and his highlights don't change that. that one pocket pass was way behind the roller--compare that to reaves's passes off the high screens. in other words, i don't see tj mcconnell there other than he's muscly and white with short arms. very different styles of play. he's quite an athlete, though, and obviously quite a competitor. so who knows. i just wouldn't hold my breath on that one. cacock looked dominant, but he should at this point. if i watched that game and needed an end of bench big, i might be swayed a bit. pretty decent hands, often in the right place, high energy.
Actually rating him on that one pocket pass in traffic is kinda unfair, he’s made some other nice ones and can penetrate and dish. The replay I thought showed it wasn’t horribly late, the player would have had to have made a great catch though, he did get his hands on it. These guys are all pressing trying to do well. He can juke and cut to the basket too, saw that 1st game.
