Chicago likely wouldn't have waited. Makes sense.

would say pretty likely, he didn't get much money in his career so far at 27, so 37M or whatever he got is life-changing money.

doubling down on getting run off the floor in the playoffs?

    I kid. Sort of.

I buy the narrative about Caruso. The timing seemed off to me as well. But honestly he did the right thing. If you get an offer like that after scuffling through the G league and such you do what you need to do. I think ultimately though the issue remains as Slick and others have said: the Lakers made a choice between him and THT in terms of the luxury tax ramifications and I can’t fault them for choosing THT over AC. He’s younger with more upside. That’s pretty much the end of the story. I’m glad for AC Fresh that he is getting paid and I’m glad to see Rob sign Nunn, Monk, Melo and THT today. Good recovery. Really a great one actually.

LOL..sounds like the FO is putting out a smokescreen to make it seem like Caruso panicked to me.

I have a friend that works for the Lakers, I don't speak to her much these days but she would always tell me that the Lakers are not very fond of Ramona's tactics.

Maybe but look at what is happening to Dennis. He will still get an offer from someone but at what price? Maybe Dennis should have panicked when we offered him 4/84.

No doubt..Dennis played himself badly. He will learn a painful lesson from this, an expensive one too.

I thought Ramona burned bridges with the Lakers a couple seasons ago? Forgot the exact incident but then after that she stopped getting leaks from us.

this betting on themselves thing is pretty BS.

you go from hero to zero pretty quickly in this league, even without injuries, just look at Drummond.

you get offered a big bag, you take it, no ifs or buts.

I have to say that, these past couple of days, have reinforced my opinion, that a lot of " insiders " " experts " and " analysts " don't have any more of a clue, about what's going to happen with these players, than well read fans. I watched a couple of guys go on for about 6-7 minutes, about Derozan only likely to get the MLE, 15 minutes later he's signing for 3 years and 85 million dollars.
I also I have to say that I regret not coming across this board sooner. This is the best Laker fan board around. You can get just as much or better info and analysis around here than a lot of these paid sites.

We are blessed on this board. A lot of us have known each other since 2005 and the Smush Parker days. I don't even go to other Laker boards. No reason to.

I think the Bulls had a damn good free agency. Not sure how all their puzzle pieces fit, but they're a solid ball club heading into the season. Based on the market, I think they overpaid for DD but I think he's a good fit and you're going to have to overpay to get someone to come to Chicago. Glad he went there instead of Miami or the Clippers.

On to our day (haven't had time to chime in since right after the Melo/Monk double announcement) ...I thought Rob was busy yesterday, DAMN! His signings far surpassed my hopes and expectations considering he's offering guys pennies on the dollar. Monk and Nunn really shocked me. I like our mix of former Lakers, HOF'ers hungry for a ship, shooters, and a few younger guys that Handy will thrive with.
