Good pick up for them. Would have liked him instead of Ariza. Gotta get Melo now though

I think Gay was the better fit, but Melo was probably more of the target. Options are getting slim now though, we need Melo.

We're gonna pick up George Hill, aren't we?

Guessing we are saving our exception for Mills.

For us, Gay isn't worth our mid level. Not when you can get Melo for the min, especially when that's Bron's preferred addition of the two. Mills at the MLE or even Millsap (haven't seen anyone linked to him yet) would be worth it.

I'm already over the Buddy Hield thing, that's a lot of cash and luxury tax for a one trick pony. Mills and Ellington gives your the same production from three at a deep discount. I want more size, if we get Mills I'm good with the guards because we still have Tucker. I'm still hoping for a surprise move for Myles Turner or a solid pickup of Robert Covington. Melo and Rudy Gay can be had later IMO. A Schroder TPE can be helpful to snag one of those cats. With the amount of silly deals I saw yesterday? Somebody is going to pick up Dennis, I have no doubt and it will be for more than some expect. Scratch Rudy, 12 million dollars is too much.

We really need that one trick. Hield would be a gift at this point with our roster.

I suspect Melo is holding out for exception money - our 5.9 or TPE money, after the year he had. Won’t sign for the vet min is my feeling.

Melo is coming for the minimum, IMO.

    He's not worth the MLE.

He is more of a stretch 4 at this point in his career.

Believe he played 88% of his minutes at the 4 last year.

    He isn't a wing.

I agree. But suspect he is feeling like we need him more than he needs us, so he has leverage (could go to Clips, Brooklyn, or even the Bucks as a Tucker replacement).

I hope we turn Dennis into a TPE that gets Derozan cheap.

    Patty for 5.9.

    Melo for min. Done.

I slept on it. Still want to burn everything down due to the Caruso loss. This team was going to be difficult to root for with Lebron being himself and Westbrook making 10 plays a game that will cause me to hurl a kitten into a fire.

Now we are filling our roster with completely mediocre guys past their prime. So we get Patty Mills...when for 3 million more we keep Caruso? Is Patty Mills's extra percentage on threes (41 to 40) worth the loss of Caruso's elite defense and high IQ plays in crunch time?

    If we still had
Bradley shot 31% from the field and 27% from three. Ugh for a guy that isn't going to play a lot.

You're referring to last year? Yeah, he was awful.

I'm just thinking back before the bubble when he started with Green in the backcourt.

Thought he played solid for us.

Hey, he's only 30. Does have health concerns tho...

Caruso wasn't playing in crunchtime with Russ on the team. I mean seriously, Alex's major plus was playing next to Lebron. I think Russ will play pretty good next to Lebron too. We moved some pretty mediocre guys in their prime for guys on the cheap, that are still comparable, plus brought in a superstar. We are already better than we were last season and we aren't done yet.
