    Real talk. I don't disagree. But Kenyon Martin was an absolute beast. And a physical specimen. I don't see it.

    I don't see Barnes personally. The ball handling, the shooting ability, the finishing, he showed his quickness against other prospects in the workouts. There was a shot in the workout where there was a hand right in his face and he still got it off with his length and release and hit the shot. Like I said, I'm just high on him...

    Fwiw I like him, too. I like Barnes's game, too. But Kenyon Martin wasn't that player.

    I don't like Barnes. RJ is more aesthetically pleasing too watch, IMO. I think RJ has more upside. The strength will come in due time...

    Brain fart. You know I'm referring to Kevin Martin, right? My fault. I keep talking Kenyon when I really mean KEVIN MARTIN for the Minnesota Timberwolves. My mistake.

    I understand. Martin is one of the best off the ball players in league history though. An awesome rebounder. And a PF. Hunter is a wing with a release that looks like Barnes's and a physique like his and athleticism like Matt, too.

    Yeah, it's like my typing Randall when it's Randle. Just an absolute brain fart.

    Kevin Martin is a totally legit comparison. I see some Barnes, too. We can disagree about that. But I didn't see how we could agree to disagree about Kenyon ;)

    Definitely. Kevin Martin is a good player, though. I'm talking absolute ceiling when I say Kevin Martin, though.

    If we take Porzingis, I will lose my faith entirely in this organization. We cannot take a chance on a skinny euro...i can't even remember the last time a euro taken this high actually ended up being great....

    Pau Gasol and Dirk are the only ones I can think of.

    Pau went 3rd with Kwame (LOL) and Tyson ahead of him, followed by Eddy Curry and Jason Richardson.

    Dirk went 9th with Olowokandi (LOL), Bibby, Lafrentz, Jamison, Vince Carter, Robert Traylor, Jason Williams, Larry Hughes. He was eventually traded for the higher project Tractor Traylor. Yikes.

    Eh you see what I mean though. It's still possible to get an awesome European player high in the draft... Is Porzingis one of them though?

    If he is, you still have 2-3 years to wait for him to see the kind of potential GM's and scouts are talking about; I have him in my top 10, but he's the least one I'm sure about quite honestly;

    The overseas prospects go Henzonja, Mudiay, and Kristaps in that order. Henzonja even had question marks; he doesn't draw nearly enough fouls, and you just don't start getting to the free-throw line in the NBA; Mudiay has shooting issues, but I'd still take those 2 before Kristaps...

    That's why the Lakers are doing their due diligence. In those drafts, I don't think you had known quantities like Okafor and Towns, and some teams didn't do their due diligence in scouting and working out these players.

    Kwame? Olowokandi? Those guys on their best days still wouldn't crack the Top 10 in this years draft. We are lucky to have obtained such a high pick in a deep draft, we can't afford to take chances on potential when the obvious talent is there. Hell, last years draft really wasn't all as hyped either. Porzingis could easily go Top 5 in that draft, this one, it's debatable.
