I hope they offer Dudley some kind of role with the team in a non player capacity. He’s great to have around the team, great at talking, but his playing days should probably be over. Unless they just have an open spot left, and just need a body that’s a good locker room guy.

I’d actually look to see if they can groom him to replace Stu once he retires.

Bron has been with him a lot this summer. I think they went on a couple vacations together. He was at Bron's for the Westbrook meeting. We have to keep him, i'd prefer as some sort of coach so he would still be in the locker room and on the practice court.

I have a feeling Schroder might have overplayed his hand. There’s been no rumors at all about any of the teams with cap space willing to pay him anywhere near $84 million/4 seasons.

Lonzo had more realistic expectations with the rumor that he’s going to sign a $80 mil/4 year deal with Chicago.

To me, what this means is Schroder will likely take a short term MLE level deal…. Or temper his expectations and work with the Lakers on a sign and trade where he makes $15 mil/season. The only problem with that is I don’t even know what team would want him at that price. Schroder would have to wait to see what happens with Dinwiddie before people start looking at him.

The only teams that are still looking for a starting point guard (assuming Lowry goes to Miami) would be NYK,Washington, Detroit, New Orleans, Dallas.

Of those teams, I think Detroit and the Knicks (only if they strike out everywhere else) might be the only possible destination for Schroder. It would be as originally stated, MLE money or a 1 year deal for $15-18 mil.

I hope so too. And I know Cookie wants Dudz around, but only if he continues to wear tank tops. So as a coach, he will have to wear some sort of sleeveless suit so Cookie can continue to marvel at those sculpted guns.

detroit has a young guard they want to play, so i wonder. ny has rose and that rookie they like, but that might be a fit.

dallas is the team to watch for, imo. they were interested in him back when he was drafted, and might have the right on-court fit for him.

plus, we could make a deal that gets us a role player or two if he goes there.

Bron can hook Dudley up at the same place he bought his suit with shorts outfit.

Now to the B/R rumor mill for the morning...

    Latest on DD
If he wants a payday NY is his best bet

Dinwiddie now a target for NO because A) Lowry to MIA and B) Nets don't want Kuz and Trezz
    That's a little much, I think

    Tidbits...
The $ on Duncan Robinson's next deal
Rumored spots for Markkanen, Olynyk, Danny Green, Iggy, Millsap, Joseph, and Dieng.
Don't rule us out of the Iggy race just yet...
    • Also glad to hear we were thinking about Mills with a minimum deal and not our MLE.

Clippers is making him their top priority after Kawhi, apparently. Forgot where I read that this morning.

that's sweet, but they only have early bird rights, so if someone showed up with something big, they'd be screwed.

now, he's apparently bffs with george, but they better be offering the max they can (4/45ish i think?) because if i were one of the teams losing out on the pg market, i'd come calling with a shorter deal with similar guaranteed money and really make him prove his loyalty.

anyway, everyone acts like we can't keep caruso and THT, but at least we won't be in a situation where we would have to lock them in a room or something.

How many warnings you need about getting on the wrong side of “Doom” here on LB?
