Will be missing the July 4th crowd too, perfect timing for Vegas.

Yeah, I'll catch the games on television. I'm more interested in going to the preseason and regular season games this year...

    kevin martin?

I don't think he's as fast/quick as martin. his best case is the sg version of tayshaun prince, I think. it's rare that someone with that frame is able to be a long term nba starter.

When I watch him workout in that video, I see Kenyon Martin. I think he's a lottery talent, actually.

I actually see Payne going to Indiana. I think he'll do well there...

really? I see evan Fournier, I think. just not very athletic, and he needs to be taller or much stronger if he's going to be slow.

zinger's agent is really putting on the full-court press.

i'll admit he says all the right things. still can't get over how skinny he is, though.

a few weeks ago, I wouldn't have considered taking him in the top 5, but the more I see/read, I can understand it. still can't see him in the top two, though.

Yeah, I think he's quicker than given credit for; he blew by Jerian Grant during a workout; good finisher, he's a good shooter, etc; really, I'm probably just more higher on him than you are...

Interesting that the Lakers held another workout with Porzingis...if it's smoke, they are laying it on thick.

    Two things:
    1. No info came out about that workout from LA itself... No interview, no nothing.
    2. The Lakers only went to go watch him workout in Vegas among other teams that were invited. My understanding is that wasn't a personal workout for us.

Still though, the Lakers are definitely doing their due diligence. If we pass up on Okafor for Porzingis though I think I'll lose my mind.

Every day, front-office fascinations rise with Porzingis. Every day, he’s moving himself closer into contention to become one of the top three picks in the NBA draft on June 25. Los Angeles Lakers officials conducted a workout of Porzingis on Monday night at the franchise’s El Segundo, Calif., practice facility, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Suddenly, Porzingis is pursuing the Lakers’ pick at No. 2, along with spectacular Ohio State guard D’Angelo Russell and Duke’s Jahlil Okafor. Suddenly, Porzingis is changing this NBA draft.

Had to include that second sentence which is interesting; LOL!. Go Kristaps! In all seriousness, Mitch said he'd work out one of the Euros before the draft. It's better to get an up close and personal view on him than a agent controlled workout in Vegas...

I like the wording there: players pursuing the Lakers' pick at No. 2...

Three of the top players in the draft coming after us instead of the other way around... Nice...

Correct, it wasn't a personal workout. Still, if they didn't like what they saw the Lakers wouldn't have brought him in to workout in LA (unless it's all smoke...which is very possible). I still don't think they pass on Okafor or Russell....but you never know. With GM's saying things like if the draft were next year Porzingis would go before Towns is interesting, but all we can do is trust Mitch and his ability to evaluate talent.

EDIT: And it is strange that from every other workout we have seen at least some pictures, interviews, etc. From this one though...crickets. My guess is because Okafor, Russell, etc. are more well-known the workouts aren't as important. For Porzingis though, who everyone is dying to get more info about, the Lakers don't want to do any other teams any favors by sharing.

Yeah I mean I've said I'll trust them but man... I've grown way too attached to us getting Jahlil. The fit is just about perfect and for us to go in another direction with a guy who won't be ready to compete for at least a couple years... oh geez I'm woozy just thinking about it.

It's not smoke if their bringing him in; it's just due diligence. We haven't had a pick this high since Worthy, right? We have to be absolutely sure of who we pick. Chances are if Okafor is still on the board at #2, then he will be in a Lakers jersey. Even if we selected number 1, we'd go Okafor, IMO. Now, if the Wolves throw a curve ball select Okafor because Flip can't pass on him, that's where I think it will get interesting; for some reason, I don't think Towns is a lock at number 2 on our board...

0% chance we take Porzingis. Even if Mitch sees talent in him he's under too much pressure to gamble with such a prospect. He said it himself that getting the #2 pick removed some of the pressure from this offseason.. Why would he make a move that would put him right back into the hot seat? Makes absolutely no sense. We're taking either Okafor or Towns. It's a given.

I see a lot more Matt Barnes than Kenyon Martin.
