With the advanced defensive schemes these days they will rotate to keep the inferior shooter open and clog the paint. I dont expect all of our guys to be sharpshooters but they need to make an adequate amount and just enough 3s (ala Danny Green) to keep these defenses honest and make them pay for double teams.

On side note I can see why Lakers might have some interest in a random player like Buddy Hield. He took the 3rd most amount of catch and shoot 3s last year and made over 40%. Off the dribble is another story but he has some value for catch and shoot situations

This could be the question, would you sacrifice skill for more 3 point shooting or or 3 point shooting for more skill. I think adding DD, they will find ways to put up points with or no space. It's tempting I would love to have DD, but the Lakes do need some spacing from 3 point range.

    Wowowowow!!!

    DD for MLE? Seriously?

Now, that is a lineup built for the playoffs. No three ball, but everything else would fit perfectly. DD gives you a third playmaker after LeBron and Russ. He gives you length at the 2. He gives you a deadly midrange which becomes so much more important in the playoffs. And he would be the 4th option so all the pressure as the #1 or #2 guy is off him. Please let this happen.

Oh, and as an added bonus, this would stick it to Pop, which I'm always on board for.

I would sign Portis if he wanted to come. Great role player and a surprisingly good 3 point shooter. But after they won he was singing the praises of the Bucks organization. I would be shocked if he would leave a championship team he loves for the same money here.

and with that being the case, they would be stupid to offer him a big contract. Still makes a S&T possible if he wants to make more money.

Who thinks DS is thinking about that 84 million dollar 4 year deal would sound good right about now. He gambled and lost.

You'll buy it if DeRozan is selling it. And you'll like what you buy.

    Check this out:

DeRozan for his career shoots 36% for corner 3s. 23% on threes from anywhere else. Maybe no one puts Baby in the corner, but I think LeBron and Russ could put DD there.

That is encouraging but DDR doesn't take enough 3s either and quite often turns it down. We need guys who are willing to launch it with no hesitation. He offers some versatility defensively but the lack of floor spacing can become a detriment

Here's the thing in the NBA though. Teams have to fill up their salary cap up to 90% or something like that, right?

They made the rules to match salaries not just to protect the lopsided trades but to also force teams to pay salaries that meet the percentages they agree to on how much owners and players get paid.

This all plays a part in why so many get overpaid. It has to be done to meet the percentages.

Schroder and his people might know they have at least one team that would give him 21 mil per, now, they are just seeing if there is a shot at something more. It's a win-win for them.

He is gonna get paid what he wants either way because I believe Pelinka will find a team that will pay him and the Lakers get players in a sign and trade that will benefit everyone.

    It's science.
