Lakers just agreed with Joel Ayiyi from Gonzaga on a two way. Great pickup. Some mocks had him as a late 1st rounder.
I want this guy to make the roster as the last man on the bench just so when it's Garbage Time, I can yell "Ayayi Time!"
Waiting to see it from Woj, but i hear we’re also getting Austin Reaves from Oklahoma. Hadn’t heard of him until Oklahoma lost in the tourney to Gonzaga, but I remember being impressed by him.
Does this mean these two are basically replacing Cacok and Kostas? Or are these two-ways so non-guaranteed where it’s more of a Summer League/Training Camp invite?
The other 3 guards we picked up are all 6'5" while McClung is 6'3" but this mix tape with a lot of floor level shots show quickness with the ball and good hops and nice J too. Clearly we are looking for a shooter in the guys we picked up.
so Ayayi and Reaves signed 2-way contracts, but Mac is currently on board for training camp only? If the previous two are already occupying both 2-ways, then in theory would it be harder for Mac to make the team? need an education here... i think these are 3 solid guys, we aced this component of the day/evening!
Been watching McClang from his highschool days. Randomly. Now he might make the Lakers (he won't though). Odd.
I could be wrong, but I believe the two-way guys could be upgraded to full contracts, thus allowing a training camp invite to sign as a two-way. Or a training camp invite could just earn a true roster spot and keep Ayayi and Reaves as two-way. I did not look this up so anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
the mcclung highlight reel from hs was entertaining. reminds me a bit of a guy i played with (who wasn't as good, but sort of looked acted similarly).
