Again, I don't disagree with most of your points, but I see Okafor potentially becoming a career 60+ FG% scorer, based on his current skillset and how he'd develop. I see nothing from Towns that suggests he'd eclipse that efficiency. He has ALOT of catching up to do.

Eh maybe, maybe not. Byron either lies a lot to the media or just really plays things by ear... I remember him saying a lot of things to the media that just didn't end up happening. History has shown he doesn't care much for the interviews he has to do.

I think we'll see something along the lines of what Mark Jackson ran up in Golden State: actions to promote isolations. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it could be worse. Randle, Kobe, and Okafor can all score in isolation situations. Then you mix in a healthy dose of Clarkson pick and roll. The offense will be rudimentary to be sure, but hopefully effective enough to win some games.

I don't know that Towns will ever score that efficiently and I don't know that Okafor will either to be honest. Assuming they both reach potential as Centers I think we're looking at something along the lines of:

    Towns- 18/14/2 with 2.5 blocks a game; 50 FG%
    Okafor- 24/11/3 with 1.5 block a game; 53 FG%

Kobe can't score efficiently in isolations anymore. Stats back that up. That's just not happening. He's best to work off the ball at this stage in this career. I don't like heavy isolation basketball at all; it's just not efficient.

Not arguing the point, just predicting what we're likely to see. Byron's half court offenses are very simplistic. To his credit, he'll let strong PGs take control and run other things, but his half-court style isn't all that great. I'm not sure if he's too set in his ways to change or if he genuinely doesn't know how to run a modern offense.

We're unlikely to see a ton of motion offense like Golden State, San Antonio, or Atlanta. That's okay though, in the meantime he'll do a good job of getting the young guys ready for bigger and better things and once they are ready we'll bring in another coach.

Unless of course Byron's performance last year had to do with the tanking strategy, I don't see a ton of great coaching ability there. Isos may not be efficient, but I think that's what we're getting so buckle up!

That's fine. I wouldn't expect anything more from him.
