Jeezus Cook I went back 5 pages looking for this quote and gave up. Where’d you pull it from? Nothing along those lines reported since? Probably when @abeer3 was younger and not well versed in the ways of the Rob?

“s***. that means we lose one or both of AC and THT.”

Doesn’t Trezz take up the MLE … being signed for it and then traded? It of course is awesome if somehow now we get it back too??

OK read the news quote and it’s the taxpaying MLE. Bet you Dre swallows his money pride and still wants back in at it for a chance with this potential jugglerknot? Whether Lakers want him back we will soon find out. If he drops 20 lbs and buys into what Vogel and staff are selling …. could still IMO be a good thing. But seriously he needs to get more of that younger athleticism back by dropping those lbs.

Also Westbrook is clearly way better then the assets given up from him: from a straight trade value this is great (if he stays healthy)

No. Trezz signed a two year deal last year (PO for year 2) and was under contract unless he opted out. He opted in.

It’s weird I don’t really feel anything either way about this trade. I guess I need to see how the roster rounds out, even if this somehow expands with the Kings to include Hield coming here somehow. If we can add shooters to the starting lineup we’ll be good, 2 remaining starters will be open all day next to those 3. Will be important to keep some balance of youth and vets though, this is that dangerous time we start adding older players to win now and we can’t neglect keeping some youth around like THT so we don’t absolutely suck when this run is over. But yes, if quality vet minimum players come here in free agency we could easily be the favorite in the West, and we didn’t really give up any pieces I’m broken up over. At the very least I bet the Clippers are pissed right now, they’re irrelevant again.

Without Hield, it's not like we are limited to picking up some garbage players. Kawhi , Klay, Murray, all coming back from serious injury next season. If AD didn't go down we at least got out of the West this year. Health is still key though.

Headcanon: This is the teams trying to quiet down the chatter around a potential 3-4 team deal involving a Schröder S&T to be even more careful about avoiding that Bogdan fiasco last year

Yeah. I’m not quite ready to rule out us ending up with Hield or some other player using Dennis.

Schroder would go to the Wiz and maybe Trez + Kuz to the Kings in that scenario.

Let's hope that THT is practicing his 3's right now.

Ready for the 4 team deal. Including Nets with Dinwiddie going to Wiz. The more teams involved, the better chance we have of peeling off additional future 2nd round picks.

But Rob doesn't know the cap.

I will say one thing about Russ, he will always come to play. He will leave everything on the floor. It may be s*** some nights, but it will be left...all over the floor.

I keep forgetting that we can still sign and trade Schröder without hard capping ourselves (assuming we’re not getting a sign and trade free agent in return). Or even try to bring him back as a sixth man (ie, trade chip for down the line).

I hope we don’t let Schröder walk for nothing. If we can retain or trade him, stay away from the hard cap so that we can retain Caruso and THT for as much as needed, and then still have the $5.9 MLE + veteran’s minimums, I’m liking our chances at rounding out the roster.

Two players I for sure want to see us bring in with the minimum are Melo and Dwight.
