Morey is not going to get any suitors. He's counting on desperate small town teams

isn't this the sort of thing that okc got all those picks for? if you're not going to spend them on a young allstar/all defensive team guy under contract for several years, what are you going to spend them on?

give philly kemba and a bunch of picks, including the #6. or can kemba not be moved yet?

The buzz on social media and amongst the “sources” makes it feel that the Hield trade is gaining more and more momentum.

Which makes me think the trade is less and less likely. Whenever there is this much smoke around trade rumors, that usually means either the talks have already died and the reporters are getting information in a delayed manner. Or the rumors are just a leverage ploy for something else. Rob moves in silence.

It's an interesting waiting game right now. Everyone is waiting for the first domino to fall. Most talking heads expect a busy night, but it doesn't seem like Beal or Lillard are going anywhere right now. So their teams have this offseason as one last ditch effort to appease them. Does that put Washington in play for DD? Or another similar 3rd option. What's Portland's play (especially if they're not willing to move CJ)?

Morey is off his rocker with his ask for Simmons. Most agree that he asks for waaay too much initially and then will negotiate down to something reasonable. I saw he wanted 4 1sts, 3 pick swaps, and a young player from SA. The phrase I keep seeing is that he's looking for a Harden level deal. Simmons isn't Harden though and his value has never been lower. He could hold on to him until his value is up, but I think there's a need to get him out of there before the season based on where their relationship has dissolved to. Biggest difference with him vs. Beal and Dame is that it's not his team, it's Joel's.

GS should try to move at least one of those picks for a future pick + a rotation player. Don't see them keeping both rooks, either.

Then for us... do we try to wait and see if Westbrook can be had at the deadline if Beal has had enough by then or does that ramp up our pursuit of other PGs we've been linked to this summer?

Wonder if our pursuit for Hield has anything to do with AD. Seems they had become friends during his stint there.

We already promoted Penberthy (and outbid Dallas) for him.

AD and Rob both have ties to him. Is that pushing this needle? Reports were out that Bron wasn't a Kuz fan. Can't imagine AD is either based on how poorly they play next to one another.

Thanks for the update, Im hoping THT is only thrown in for someone special. Not someone like Hield.

The Hield would be better for both on the court and for financial reasons. The Spurs could have Kuzma and #22 for #12. It sounds like DeRozen is more interested in us than we are in him. I would take him for the 5.9 taxpayer MLE.

I would be hesitant for THT. But, if it is for someone like Lillard, Beal, or LaVine you got to pull the trigger on that deal.

Plus the only way Pop does a sign and trade with the Lakers is if he got the long end of the stick, by a margin to wide to pass up. That means that we get hosed in the transaction.

Harrell likely to opt in, but he doesn't want to stay in LA. FO has indicated they will help move him to a preferred destination if he chooses to do so.

I'm good with the Hield trade, if it's Kuz and Trez, it's a big NO if Tucker or the draft pick is included. Trez is the wildcard for us, if he opts in, he could be moved to the Kings, Wizards or Hornets and help facilitate a deal. If he opts out, our options get even more limited.

probably best for everyone. he's a actually a good trade asset as an opt-in, imo: team will have early bird rights on him if they're going to be over the cap, and his next contract certainly won't exceed those limits. lots of teams could use harrell. hell, we did...until the playoffs.

Sounds pretty certain he will opt in and it makes sense for him to do that. Aside from risk of injury before FA next year after he has “proven” (?) he should not have been glued to the bench last 2 playoffs by both the Clippers and the Lakers.

Sorry if I wasn't clear in my earlier post, but Hield talks have stalled for now. Focus has shifted to finalizing selection @ 22.
