LA will select @ 22 tonight unless Kings cave and lower ask. Otherwise, original plan is to wait and use in S&T and then leverage remaining exceptions. Some cap trickery required.
wait on what? delay signing the player so that he can be traded? dangerous territory. once you make picks, they lose a lot of value.
Sorry, typed too fast. Included in an S&T or some sort of move for a veteran point guard (#1 target this offseason).
No one knows OKC's master plan. There is one though. Maybe he'll end up flipping him for more picks at some point. And maybe we'll buy a 2nd rounder.
Sure why not! Yeah for sure, but the reach makes perfect sense with Presti's MO. He is looking to find another Durant or Harden. Giddy has a potential ceiling as high as anyone in this draft. If he misses on this pick he has another 300 picks available to get it right.
Lakers picking for WA after this commercial. It gets real here. 3rd star acquired. OX and Slick talked it into existence with all the Lakers FO types that lurk here.
Wow clips traded their 25th to get Keon johnson (highest vert guy). I agree w another poster about buying a 2nd rd pick for LAL just to see how good our scouting is.
Wow, I’ve never seen what Silver just did. He announced the trade of Lakers trading the #22 pick to Indiana … via Washington. Which is directly referring to our Westbrook trade, which as of now is only an “agreement” and can’t be made official until Kuzma’s poison pill stuff expires. Doesn’t mean anything, just funny because usually the league is pretty coy about these trades until they’re official.
how do people miss the irony in the idea that we need to hoard picks because so few work out? MAYBE HOARD OTHER THINGS? i think it's the most exciting news of the night, so he's leaning into it. at least we know he's not going to randomly nix it now.
Draft night is always boring when the Lakers are contenders, I’ve gotten used to it. If we are picking high it means we suck, if we’re picking in the middle it means we’re mediocre. So, I’ll take being out it entirely, though a 2nd rounder might have been useful.
Ah yes, the NBA Draft. What I like to call the Jay Bilas "Good player, project" response to every basketball player picked after the top 5.
