For free? C'mon man. I'd even take him for that. I think he's on a year to year basis at this point on his rookie deal.

He's on his second season which is guaranteed to be roughly 5 million. It's guaranteed. Then he's on team options for two years.

I'd rather have the 5 million in cap space.

Depending on who they wanted at 2, it might make sense. It's like stashing a Euro for a couple of years. Very little risk versus potential payback. Don't know much about the kid besides some scout video, but he was well thought of before the injury. Some thought he'd be better than Wiggins. Like I said, depending on who they take at two, it's not out of the discussion completely for me if I'm Mitch.

You'd swear he is a clone of Olajuwon watching some of his youtube clips. Too bad he can't stay healthy.

    Tough call

Blake Griffin took a year off to heal
    So did Oden

Two completely different outcomes. A setback makes it look more like door number two unfortunately.

But this won't be one year off, it'll be two.

Exactly. I would take him if he was offered for free in hopes that he heals and we could flip him later. But I think it's gotten to the point now where if we do something strange and take Russell at two, Philly needs to think about drafting Okafor as opposed to a pg or wing to better fill out that roster. You can always flip Embiid later.

On a side note, Real, my 35 win prediction for the Sixers just took a massive blow. :D

Couldn't happen to a nicer front office competitive strategy.

Can you imagine if Embiid doesn't recover from this? They would have essentially intentionally tanked all those seasons and come away with a somewhat offensively limited center/pf in Noel and Russell. The one gem they may have unearthed in McDaniels, they traded away.

Would you guys trade our #2 pick for Noel and the Sixers pick next season? Not saying I would, but a coworker brought it up and it isn't the worst idea ever. Noel should have won rookie of the year and was a defensive beast last season. He has shown his game translates well in the NBA. He would be a great fit next to Randle. The Sixers will probably suck again this next season giving us a decent first rounder next year. Like I said, I'm not saying I would do it (I wouldn't), but it is intriguing. Noel is a true rim protector.

    "Priceless"

And along similar priceless happenings ..... oh please ..... let Kevin Love opt out and go to NY or somewhere else, not here, after those clowns traded away not 1 but 2 of those ever so questionable number 1 picks to bring him in.

No. It will only be intriguing if the offer was Noel+Russell for Okafor.

    Nah. I might consider Noel/#3 but I wouldn't consider Noel/Future 1st.
