If Lilliard wants to win right now. And Portland wants get talent in return. And out of the West, Lillard should demand to go to Philadelphia.

i'd also add that portland is not in that bad a shape. they can clear the books save him and cj (and could move cj if they wanted) and totally start over as soon as next year. so it's not like he's locked in an unfixable situation. portland does need to try and bring in another star, though, and so cj probably has to go.

Despite the Lillard rumors making their way through the media again, the below still holds to my best knowledge!!

To Caveat, I am meeting with some folks in the 76'ers Corporate Partnerships division next week, so I may have more to share on the Lillard and Simmons front.

    Thank you!

Tell them Kuzma is an all star waiting to break through. We will take Simmons for Kuzma and KCP, but Philly will likely have to sweeten the pot a bit by throwing some picks our way. Embiid+Kuzma+KCP = Championship.

Dame is a game changer... but if he goes to the Knicks, he's also a d******.

CJ has a lot of market. I think Portland lacked depth and need a good center. With CJ they can get at least a good center and a good role player, they can pick up one or 2 FAs and run it back.
Simmons there would be very interesting

The fact that the rumor and this article dropped around the same time, to me, means there's fire behind this smoke.

He's trying to pressure them into doing more. But hats off to not pointing the finger at them. It was all "we have to do better"..."we have to look in the mirror." I think he wants to retire a Blazer. But they have to do right by him. He deserves better. And I don't think they can do better. They've tried. They're stuck in the middle lands of the a Western Conference.

Abbott has been at this for 22 years and isn't a rumor slut. For him to post that rumor, he must have a good source. Maybe the demand was going to be private or Dame wanted it to be on his terms (after pressuring Portland.... again failed).

Not sure who this is...apparently he had the Harden trade rumor early on too... could just be good at stating the obvious and in this case listing contenders.

Bottom right looks like the right fit to me.

    :LLLLLebronlaughing:, for sure.

Actually from an objective perspective, going to play with Embiid is the best fit of those four. Steph, Randle and LeBron all handle the ball way too much to be a perfect fit for Dame. But he is so good, that he will fit on any team.

The best fit for Dame is the guy who plays big and impacts the game on both ends of the floor, especially on D. Basically, players like Embiid and AD.

yeah, you have to get defenders around lillard; he's not as bad as harden, but you have to build your team similarly. houston had the blueprint for this kind of player, imo: 4 mobile defenders, at least three of which can knock down standing threes at a high rate.

I think the only trade pieces the Lakers have that Portland would actually accept in exchange for Dame are Lebron or AD.

…. so the question is, which one should the Lakers offer for Dame?

true, and neither. lillard's not actually more valuable than either right now, and he's older than AD, right? we're just not going to be in on this one.

a pragmatist moves lebron or AD for lillard, tbh, but that's short-sighted thinking, imo. we're back at the top in terms of both results and prestige. no need to gamble it.

call me crazy but I would do Lebron + THT for Dame.

we'd possibly be weaker short term, but that would open up our contention window to another 5 years.

Yes crazy. That would be a terrible look to trade Lebron like that after he saved the franchise.
