spurs are working out duarte, and charlotte (who has the 11th pick) apparently already did. we may not get a chance.
Going to be iffy if he is there... I sure hope so. I trust us to take him if he is. Get him out there and let him play through his mistakes.
i don't love the highlight tape in terms of how it's likely to translate to the next level. sort of a smaller kosta koufos thing going on.
Then he called Juzang up and said, “Dude …. we both need another year. Let’s chase that college championship one more time, more fun than getting our a***s kicked in the NBA.”
One player that seems very interesting that is showing up in the late second round in mock drafts is Luka Garza. He’s a 4 year college player out of Iowa, plays center at 6’11 and 245lbs. He was the consensus Naismith College player of the year this season with stats of 24ppg/8.7rpg/1.6bpg while shooting 55%fgp and 44% on 3 pointers. The stigma to him which has him so low on many mock drafts (he isn’t even ranked to be drafted on some mocks) is that because he’s 22 years old, he might not have much more upside left. He also has the perception of having poor foot speed, but he dropped 20 pounds from his college playing weight to the NBA combine. This allowed him to achieve a time of 11.90 seconds in the lane agility drill at the combine, which is faster than Evan Mobley. He reminds me a lot of Brook Lopez, with a very polished post game and a great stretch big. Brook Lopez would likely be his ceiling and his floor would be Mo Wagner. I hope the Lakers find a way to buy into the second round to get him. While his age may turn off a lot of teams, it’s almost preferred that way for the Lakers to have more developed rookies since we are in win now mode.
Liked that Correction, I loved him. He has so much poise and seems to know what to do on the floor at any moment, boxing out, getting position down low. I would put all my money that we buy a second round. With our cap issues we will try a sleeper. We have a good history on that and 2nd rounds don't enter the cap, I believe
Couldn't, then of course could believe the statement he might go undrafted because he was too old at 22 (paraphrasing). No further room to improve, mature physically in his frame or keep on developing his skills and learning new ones. What the hell is wrong with these people and this mentality of theirs?
