I was thinking this too. Do you bring in Carlisle for a complete rebuild?

Before Byorkgren, they had Nate McMillan and Frank Vogel, so I'm thinking it's not just coaching.

Depends what their goals are and what ceiling they're OK with. That's a 5th seed IF everything bounces their way, including health. First round exit, maybe 7 game series.

does he agree to steer a complete rebuild? does that sound like carlisle?

i think indy has the tools to compete. i think if brogdon can stay healthy, carlisle can make him an allstar/centerpiece.

Carlisle's style is done with this generation. Hoping for Brogdon to be healthy is like hoping for AD wanting to play the 5 all year.

I think he can work with a certain type of team. Veteran teams might respect high basketball IQ guys, which Carlisle certainly is.

Never said he wouldn't work. I said he can't stay healthy.

At some point the curse has to be broken. Shooters get (over)paid, so if you can get one on their rookie deal then you either have a great bargain for 4 years or a very desirable trade asset.

Two things typically translate very well into the NBA: shooting and hustle. If you specialize in either, you'll get on the court. But even with hustle, I think it's more of an uphill battle if there's vets ahead of you.

If you can get a Herro (2019), Kennard ('17), Hield ('16)- each the best shooter in their respective draft -- on a $ friendly deal for a few years, then I'd even be willing to move up into the mid teens to get him. He's compared to his friend Joe Harris... if that's the kind of player you can get by moving up 6 slots give or take, I'm all over that. Two of those picks ahead of us are OKC... they're always looking to deal.

If we're not packaging the pick in a deal (Kuz trade, probably) then that's my move with the pick.

Chris Duarte is the guy we need to draft. His game is smooth and he is ready to contribute now. Not another 4-5 year project. Play him and THT alot during the season. By playoff time we won't be relying on a bunch of relics from the past to hopefully make a shot every now and then.
