what would need to happen is the Lakers take a chance on BS, and he improves when he gets to LA. If that happens, its the greatest decision in NBA history. If he doesnt, you are the dumbest ever. History says, mental midgeting of this capacity never gets cured.

I pretty much disagree with 99% of everything you have ever said on this site, so let's just agree to disagree.

I respect that, I think there are several guys that I would dump Kuz, Dennis and Trez for too. I consider those guys as replaceable, not critical by any means. It's AD and Lebron the rest can be shuffled a lot of different ways.

you mean for us, or in general? because i named a bunch of guys who make his salary, and it's not the murderer's row people think it is. if you did anything good in your first 5 years, you get a max now, which is why building through the draft is really dangerous. imagine if we kept all of our guys and had dlo/randle/ingram/lonzo and the same payroll we've got now. yikes.

yes, i'd rather my max be on one of the handful of actual superstars in the league, and luckily, we have two of them (AD only makes a little more than all those guys i named!). there's really not a path to a third of that quality, though.

but they'd never take such a deal, so who cares. it also involves a lot of unlikely things (like trez opting in and schroder's S&T fitting neatly into our plans as part of a bigger move).

Continuing the subject of fit with Lebron and AD...I think Dinwiddie and John Collins would work too. We could win now and still be set up for James eventual exit. I bring up Collins because I live in Atlanta and a lot of die Hawks fans, don't believe the Hawks will cough up 20 plus for him unless they win a title this year.

It's just fun on the hypothetical for me, we are out of the playoffs and the Clippers are still in it. I need a distraction

I will just say that I would not be a fan of getting Simmons. He had plenty of time to improve in the area of shooting/taking shots in general, but I don't think he ever really invested himself. He's a guy who would work well in the capacity of replacing, for example, Draymond Green. But we don't have space for a tall playmaker who can't shoot... he's 25 year old and he's not even sure if he should shoot with his left of his right hand yet. Come on now.

I mean for us. I think I missed your post on guys who make its salary but I can see it not exactly being loaded with superstars.

I'm not necessarily referring to just one guy here either. Just feel like Rob can put that kind of money to better use even if its bringing in a combo of lesser names.

In general, I think you gut a team when it's a sure thing.

I've always been high on Dinwiddie.

Injuries are a concern but I wouldn't mind us taking a look.

bit of a bummer that we were supposedly in talks to get him for kuz and it didn't pan out. yes, he got hurt, but he's a more valuable player and would be incredibly useful to us if he could stay healthy.

If the price tag is Kuz, Dennis, and the draft pick, I would be good with that. Don't see it happening.

He will be 25 in less then a month and while he's not a finished product, I haven't seen the desire to truly work on his shot and his scoring in general. What did he write just few days ago - "I am who I am"? That doesn't fill me with confidence.

“Ben can fix his game” = “This is the year Kuzma blossoms”.

    Spoiler Alert
    Neither will ever happen.

I believe a sign & trade hard caps us though, so the price tag, while not being high in players, does have bigger implications overall.

You may be right. If the criticism he is getting now does not light a fire for him to improve his deficiencies, nothing will. The road is littered with what could have bens.

That’s funny because saw another article this morning with Doc now walking back his kind of throwing him under the bus after their elimination when he replied he didn’t know if Ben could still be a (primary?) (player) on a championship team. Now he is saying yeah because he (Doc) and others know what is needed to fix his shooting and Ben’s going to work hard this off season.
