not only that: three fully-baked veteran stars, each of whom had led teams deep into the playoffs prior to joining forces. people don't talk about it in the same terms, but those guys were as or more accomplished as the heat's big three and the new nets big three, really. i think because that team was built via trade instead of largely via FA. anyway, no, rivers had nothing to do with it.
PG was terrific last night. Donovan is clearly hobbled. I'm rooting for Chris Paul to get his first ring.
Let's also not forget that team hung their hat on their defense. Who was their defensive coach? I think it was some guy named Thibodeau or something? It'S a ReGuLaR sEaSoN aWaRd!
I’m rooting for Chris Paul to not punch anyone in the crotch or pull someone’s arm out of the socket.
Lakers were on the verge of a 4-1 beatdown on the Suns had AD not gone down. Suns swept the Nuggets with Jokic playing unbelievable. Suns probably make it to the Finals if CP3 doesn't catch COVID. I think Rob is right. Some slight changes have to be made but if the Lakers can keep the core of their roster so the defense is still elite and then make sure the players are healthy with a full training camp, I'd like to see the Lakers next season. Still would want to see Kuzma out. I wonder if Danny Green+Howard would take vet mins to come back. I'm already taking it that Schroder will be a Lakers next season. Bird rights are simply too much to pass up under the Lakers situation now. I mean, if Bron+AD were fully healthy, I don't see a single WC team this playoffs beating them... and with Kyrie+Harden being injured in the East with an also hobbled Embiid as well as the Bucks clearly struggling to beat a hobbled Nets team, Lakers would've won the title, IMO.
AD needs to change his diet and work on his core. He is weak in a lot of areas there. His mental game works when he feels like it. That needs to change also. Give a s*** 100% of the time.
i don't know what AD eats or how he works out, but i do think it's probably worth him talking more to lebron. part of lebron's insane longevity is simply "good genes", but he's legendary for taking care of himself. i hope AD has availed himself of his teammate's wisdom. and maybe AD just isn't built for this kind of grind. like most bigs, tbh. may just have to live with the fact that he's going to play 70-75 games on average, at best.
they're dead. once again, clippers just killing gobert on offense, which is why terrence mann has his career high in the third quarter. when the threes stop dropping for utah, they've got nothing on offense to counter what they're giving up. they just have to hope they rediscover the range in the 4th, but they look shaken.
they shook themselves in and right back out of a game. Crazy to watch. They should’ve benched Gobert honestly.
