I want no part of Porzingis on the Lakers. He's 7 feet tall and weighs as much as a puppy. It's going to be at least 2 years before he has enough meat on his bones to handle NBA players. It'll be another year or two after that for him to reach full potential. That's of course assuming he makes it 3-4 years in the NBA after getting pushed around for a while.

We don't have time for a project like that. Even Okafor will take a year or two to get really cookin' and that's about as long as I can stay patient.

    Agree on Porzinga!

I'm guessing by cooking you mean dominating. If so, you are probably right. But based on what he's shown + his commitment to his predraft workouts, I can safely say Okafor will contribute immediately and is better than any of our bigs last year.

Is it wrong if I think he looks more like a taller AK than a more athletic Dirk?

I hadn't seen you compare him to AK; I just did in a post - glad we're seeing something similar.

Okafor and Towns are 'high floor high ceiling' prospects, so I'm not sure why we'd want to go 'low floor high ceiling' with Porzinga, but if we're taking the same kind of risk I'd much rather get Hezonja who is super athletic with a solid frame, shoots even better, and fills our immediate need as a wing.

I like Porzingis, and could see considering him at 4. Some have compared him to Yi Jianlin's workout, but Porzingis is much more athletic than Yi. In the top 3 though...that's a stretch to me. I don't think he has more potential than Okafor/Towns/Russell, but I think he has a higher-probability of busting than those guys do. I think he's going to struggle against NBA defenders for a bit.

And. The Los Angeles Lakers select Kristaps Porzingis...LOL!!

I said Philly would draft him awhile. Hinkie went overseas to scout him personally months ago. I think they take him and Russell goes to New York.

For the triple towers? Philly fans would storm the castle if they pass on Russell.

You're acting as if Hinkie cares about the fans.

Yup. Perfect for the triangle offense that Phil wants to cram down everybody's throat.

Yeah, now y'all over speculating lol. Only way we trade down or trade towns/most likely Okafor, is if we get an offer we can't refuse. Multiple picks, plus player(s) . Just simply a cant lose deal.

Contribute right away? Most def. But he'll need at least a year or two before we see those Duncan comparisons flesh out.
