I'm watching this whole thing live. I know I can't watch the Kobe part today. I fully expect to be a blubbering mess the second the focus goes in that direction.
aside from her great speech, I don't know how she had the strength (I got choked up just watching it and I never met Kobe), the two images of V and Capri next to his pictures really got to me She did a great job designing this
Wow, is it like it's own little room or multi-sided space? Is that what the players get? I see 2 walls, at least, across from one another.
You can see some of that Kobe focus when Vanessa is up there speaking for Kobe. She really represented Kobe well in her speech. I still can't believe he isn't here with us anymore, I envisioned him giving his hall of fame speech when he was alive.
Listening to that speech hurt every nerve ending in my body. It was brutal. I don't know how she did it without breaking down. Life (bleep) sucks.
How was Mike’s speech? Saw Vanessa’s after the game tonight but the long program must have been saving MJ for the very end. So haven’t seen it yet.
The below quote is from an Undefeated article. How screwed up are Kobe’s parents for not even attending his HOF induction? What kind of hate are they still hanging on to? Your son passed away for god sake’s, let it go. Vanessa Bryant made a point to say she invited Bryant’s parents, former NBA player Joe “Jellybean” Bryant and Pam Bryant. A source told The Undefeated that they did not attend the Hall of Fame ceremony, but one of his two sisters, Sharia, was in attendance.
Whoa! No sh*t? This, I did not know. Vanessa put up with a lot of stuff Kobe did, and by all outside appearances, was a good wife, and mother.
I don't think I'll ever get used to Kobe being gone. It's just unimaginable and impossible for me to process. Vanessa did an incredible job at the ceremony.
Not one person has mentioned MJ’s presentation. I’ve even asked how was it. I saw Vanessa’s that same day on time shift after our game but the long program was still running and they were holding onto it I’m sure to keep viewers. Still haven’t seen it. Must be too sad too, he couldn’t help it? I saw the tears on his face again like at the memorial which I haven’t watched. Thought Mike would find a way to lighten this up and really give a sense of the man, the competitor and the player he was .... since they were so alike and so close?
MJ didn't give any kind of presentation. He simply introduced Vanessa, who was speaking in Kobe's place. The introduction is not any kind of speech.
OH. Thank you. I totally mis-expected what his “presentation” was going to be. It was all Vanessa. And she gave a powerful, strong performance that Kobe would have been / was proud of I’m sure. Prepared and brave to do that to that crowd and with her design of Kobe’s space in the Hall.
