since you enjoy teams fighting for 10th place instead of winning titles, why aren't you a kings or wolves fan?

don't think the lakers are your team, gramps

    Seriously...#STHU GenX/GenY.

You haven't any idea what's going on, or what I'm talking about.

At least 2 levels above you.

It always amazes me when people who claim to be "old", or at least definitely adult, act like insecure teenagers. It seems like a few join each year, "own" everybody on this forum for a time and then disappear, makes me wonder how much time it will take that one.

As to our beloved Lakers - will we ever see the team at full strength for chrissakes? It's been a while for sure.

Agreed. It’d be more defensible coming from a teenager.

You need professional help. Betas? What are you, a 12 year old wannabe frat boy? Maybe you’d be happier on 4chan.

i think one of the real issues here is that only real alphas recognize alphas.

i've actually been conducting a long-term scientific observation, systematically evaluating the alpha-ness of all lb posters.

one of the key tests is whether AD is recognized as an alpha.

it has been scientifically proven that only true betas believe AD is a beta. according to my calculations, the few that consistently espouse this belief are in fact themselves "beta as hell": extremely submissive, unpopular with heterosexual women, and prone to just general physical and mental weakness.

anyway, i'm gonna go crush some squats and dole out wedgies whilst simultaneously....keeping women out of the workplace or something?

    #alpha out

I don't like the play-in tournament possibility/likelihood with GSW. I know some people do but.. Curry is on fire lately and our guys are out of rhythm with injuries and arguably our best defender, outside of the post, in A.C. is questionable with his foot. Dunno, I think they're a dangerous team to face in this tournament style. They bug me.

I think Caruso is most likely able to play, just like Bron and AD are. They are just trying to get some extra rest at this point. I'm not saying Caruso's foot is not bothering him, but when it comes to playing against the Warriors... he'll play.

correct me if i'm wrong, but even if they lose to GS i believe they still get to face one of memphis/san antonio for a chance to clinch the 8th seed

yeah, it's some bs. curry can go unconscious, then you're single-elimination with popovich or memphis (who just added jaren jackson, i believe!).

gs really bugs me because of the one-game nature of it. if we were 1 and they were 8, i'd say we beat them 4-1. but that 1 could come...in game 1. basically whenever curry decides he's going to hit left-handed 40 footers and such. about once in 7 games or so.

anyway, i'll pretty much check out of this place if we lose out out of the playoffs, as the vitriol is high already. i can't take a full summer of "kill marc gasol even though he only played 11 minutes" and "trade kuzma for lisa leslie because he's not khris middleton!"

i'd much rather take my chances with the play-in game than have to face the clippers in round 1

better chance at going 1-1 against GS/memphis/SA than winning 4 against the clips

facts. i said the same last week. i'm just still complaining about the stupidity of the play-in. we're 7 games better than the spurs. why do they even get an opportunity? does the regular season simply not count? no wonder everyone sits their stars. they should. hell, we sat AD and lebron in what should have been an important game, in theory. mostly because we're already basically locked into the d****** play-in.

yeah that's why the play-in is stupid and unnecessary

why reward bad teams with a second chance at the playoffs?

I wish the stars would have aligned such that we were able to avoid the play-in and still have a favorable first round matchup, and I get the arguments against the play-in...

But I can’t lie, I still like it. It’s made the end of the season much more exciting.

Say the standings shake out with Memphis in 8, GS in 9. Injured Boston maintains 7th in the East. The play-in could allow for GS to get in over Memphis, and for Boston to get eliminated and replaced with Washington. That would make for a much funner first round as a basketball fan.

is it more exciting, though? because SA and memphis have a chance at making the first round really boring?

washington got to basically punt the first quarter of the season and stand a chance to make the playoffs because jaylen brown got hurt at the end.

again, at least last year they a) only applied to the 8 seed and b) made it record-contingent. the spurs have no business here.
