I cringe every time I see Schroder shoot anything outside a layup.

How this guy was a 6th man candidate is perplexing.

Even if they don’t, LeBron and AD got us a title less than a year ago, what’s with the LeBronze stuff? He was playing MVP basketball before he hurt his ankle, he’s given all he has to this franchise.

My only WMC is the fans who continue to treat athletes like this is a video game, removing all humanity. While other teams and stars discussed the mental struggles in the bubble last year, our guys kept their heads down and went to work, showing an incredibly high level of mental toughness.

Then we have the shortest turnaround in the history of pro sports and have to start all over again, with a condensed season. Personally, I can understand the mental struggle of having a short offseason with little practice time and less time with family, especially after the sacrifices they made by living in a bubble for almost 3 months.

I’m sure we’ll have the usual crew saying that they get paid millions of dollars blah blah blah, but they’re still human beings. We’re barely 6 months removed from a ring and have people regularly trashing AD (who could have easily torn his Achilles and still may), using the term “Lebronze,” and calling this team a joke.

I would recommend some re-evaluate their perspective on pro sports and athletes and maybe go somewhere else when you only want to vent negativity. Lakers probably won’t win this year, but it’s not because they are trash or don’t care. Sometimes, people and teams are mentally drained. That’s probably happened, but the reality is injuries killed us this year so I’ll just be happy with the 2020 title, hope for the best the rest of this season, and prepare for a refreshed team next year.

I don't know how a team can be a joke after having just won a title. How cute LeBronze.

When he signed, LeBron was the only superstar willing to take on the challenge of bringing this franchise back to title contenders. He accomplished that by leading us to a title in easily one of the craziest years in NBA history. He’s earned respect and love from the fans.

This is pretty much where I am with everything at this point. I hope we can make a strong run in the playoffs but the last two seasons were unprecedented and have clearly taken their toll on our guys.

I definitely think it’s time for some of the fan base to put down the knives and at least consider the very real outside factors that have impacted the team this season.

I definitely won't blame our guys if they don't win the championship. And I don't think they will win it this year. It just doesn't seem to be our year with the injuries and everything else that happened after last year's playoffs. It's alright. I can't ask my team to win it all every year, but I can ask for some entertaining basketball and we can at least be contenders for a while. That's pretty solid in my book.

The miles on Bron - ridiculous. All those finals. The COVID break last year saved our season - in terms of winning the title. Along with the bubble - favored us, with vets and focus, and no travel or Portland, Denver, Houston, and Heat crowds.

This year, the ankle injury was a blessing, I initially thought. Short offseason, AD hurt, new players, many teams fresher for not playing in the bubble, etc. Didn’t need Bron trying to kill himself. Kobe’s Achilles falls on Nash, Howard and Mike D. I really thought it would be best because Bron got several weeks rest. But if he still feels pain.... Then we can’t expect a deep run.

I am fine with 7 and the play in, if it means the Suns in round 1. I prefer that to the Clips or Nuggets. We did well playoff time against great guards - Dame and CJ, then Harden and Russ. And our bigs can play in a series with Phoenix. AND - that means the Clips face Dame in Round 1. I am confident we will beat Memphis in the first game.

I expect blowout losses the next 3 games (too few assists and too many turnovers with Dennis and Bron out). Let’s see...

in fairness, it's mostly just a handful of (relatively new) folks who like to employ pithy, non-substantive, almost-always-negative takes peppered with personal insults when they're called on their inanity.

but all of us needed to be prepared for what's happened this year. some of us warned about this ahead of time, and those are probably the ones who aren't suicidal right now because we're not winning all the games.

and i think the team has played pretty competitively--even when we've been a quart low or more. we had no business going nearly .500 without AD and lebron for 20 games. that's amazing, imo.

anyway, as most have probably figured out, the AD trashing has annoyed me most. as wallangong said above, he played through what was probably a pretty serious injury to bring home a title, then got back on it to start the season when he could (and should) have sat out. maybe the entire year. if and when he does bust his achilles, you'll be lucky if we get close to landing a player of that caliber again, even for a year. but this f***ing beta talk. gtfo.

You're right ... I think some of us ( sometimes I'm guilty of it lately too) are very dissapointed and frustrated about the injuries , it's the worst way of losing .

Many of us envisioned another deep playoffs run and everything was fine until AD got hurt .

The last couple of years have been tough for people in general , Lakers being back on top was one of the bright spots so the way the season is going is harder to accept imo.

I have little patience to wait for another year to surpass the C Bags with a 18th title

Wrong thread guys ... the other hasn’t as was suggested been moved to NBA yet.  But yeah applause. I still recommend painkillers for all the wounded ;) and we have a puncher’s chance.

    That includes you Dudley.

if the bron/AD era gets the lakers just one title, that's a W in my book

i don't expect them to win it all this season. for teams in any sport to win a title, everything has to go right which obviously it hasn't this season. but if you're sh*tting on bron, don't even bother calling yourself a lakers fan. injuries are part of the game. this team would be battling for the 10th spot with lonzo and ingram leading the way if it wasn't for him

I haven’t given up hope for a championship this year yet. It’s such a hard thing to do to go back to back even if you manage to stay healthy. We’ve been hit with the injury bug but last I checked so have a bunch of other teams including the Nets, Utah, Clips and Denver - all contenders as well.

If Lebron can get his ankle healthy in time for the playoffs I still like our chances. If he can’t then that’s a different story and all bets are off. Can’t believe Schroder is out for the rest of the regular season due to safety protocols. That may land us in the play in rounds which would be unfortunate.
