Adding Drummond seems like a big mistake to me: he's a flawed player who you need to really get into a system to get the most of out of. With the injuries it would have been better to stick with the core and guys like Damian jones who are more plug and play. AD at the 5 is the key for the Lakers anyways and we're wasting time and playoff seeding trying to figure out what do with Drummond

Honestly not trashing Drummond too much as w/o AD I think Lebron could make something out of him but I don't see how AD2 works in the modern NBA for long stretches. Lakers don't have enough shooting to not have a big who can hit the 3.

yeah, we probably weren't going to win because of injuries and the damage it did to chemistry, but drummond was the nail in the coffin.

    It doesn't work.

    Admittedly, I wanted him.

    Now? Not so much.

FOUR back to backs in 9 games? Ugh.

7 seed for sure. Oh well. Bring it on.

21 turnovers is why they lost, you can beat bott feeding team w/o much success from 3s but constantly getting 20+ to a gm is always going to put you in bad spot, sac killed us on fast breaks too because of the turnovers

I mean, abeer could say one made three by our backcourt and that 2 pt game is a 1 pt game the other way. Either of those things get fixed we win.

well Mavs won their game and they have a much easier run of final games than us.

it might not be so bad to drop to the play-ins to use it as a chance to build chemistry and avoid the Clippers in first round.

Clippers don't want to face us too ... Nuggets will finish 3rd and Mavs 5th and both will get played like rookies .

I think the Tennants want to face us as soon as possible. The deeper we go, the more trouble we'll cause.

We're #6 now, but we're still playing the Nuggets, since the Clips are now #3.

Everybody winning and having fun but us. Been such an awful 2.5 months. 15-21.

losing to the Queens, at home, without their best player. Starting guards getting owned.

Getting embarrassed by Dallas, without the Unicorn.

Mavs beat Wizards, who beat us twice.

So many problems. Yet Den, Nets, and Clips keep winning without their top stars.

Interested to see how they respond today.

Go with what got us the chip

    AC
    KCP
    Bron
    Kuz/Kieff
    AD

Less Drummond, less Schroder, less Harrell. The only new guy I trust with meaningful mins is Marc and i want to see more mins for starting and closing (if we dont go small)

THT/ Mclemore/Schroder / Kieff/ Harrell 2nd unit. Let DS Schroder run the bench guys

i think our two splashiest moves (drummond and schroder) were two that caused us problems because we were more concerned about appeasing them than we were about winning. we're too afraid of alienating them to bench them. but we've benched trez (consummate worker) and gasol (consummate pro and champion) and kieff (took the min when he could have easily cashed in elsewhere) and wes (same).

boo. that's my wmc. we got overconcerned with later and killed now, imo. we might have killed both, as i think both drummond and schroder won't be lakers next year.

The end of the season is going to be crazy. The Mavs are currently down by 10 against the Kings. If they lose, we're #5 again. But that means we are going to play the Clippers in the first round, because Denver is playing very good basketball right now and they seem determined to grab & hold that #3 seed. So, what will we do after the Dallas-Sacramento game tonight?

Portland tied with Boston, who knows what happens there. They are evenly matched IMO.

Just a crap season of injuries, this says a lot, considering these 3 together were probably one of our absolute best combinations last year

Just to clarify my post: I think we should try to gel and win as much as we can by playing the best basketball we can regardless of who our first round opponent might be. Let Dallas/Portland/LAC/Denver do what they do and don't pay too much attention to them (other than the scouting we would do anyway).
