Would be a solid replacement for Murray. Obviously not Murray, but as solid a guard you can find on the buyout market.

Yeah, I had thought Rivers had already signed with the Bucks, but I guess that was more of just a “strongly leaning” report than an actual signing. Given the circumstances, this is about as good of a replacement Denver could realistically hope for. In a way, Rivers kinda is a “poor man’s Jamal Murray”. Not a typical PG, but can create his own shot to an extent.

Wow, thank God they found out in time. Whatever the issue is, you never want to risk it out there. My only question is what will the Nets do now? I don't think there are any other decent centers available so what option do they have now? Blake+DeAndre couldn't get it done at their prime 7 years ago. What chance do they have when they are both on their way out of the league? Good luck guarding AD+Drummond+Bron in the interior... I think Bucks and Philly will give them problems. Joakim Noah? LOL....

They can always bring back some retired players... like Gortat :D
I hate that dude, him joining Nets would be awesome and fitting.

What is the date by which you have to be on a team to be eligible for the playoffs?

The Nets were never gonna win it on the backs of their centers. It's not like Aldridge gave us any problems. They are built around the idea that KD, Harden, and Kyrie provide enough offense to overcome any deficiencies on the other end.

I don’t think there is a deadline for this, the Nets can sign a replacement for Aldridge up until the end of the season and still have them be playoff eligible. The only caveat is that the player they sign would have to been waived by their prior team before April 9th.

Terrible news for Aldridge, hope he can get his heart healthy and enjoy retirement.

I am very curious to see what Brooklyn does next though. Aldridge was looking pretty good for them.

Wow, hope Aldridge found this in time. He has had a nice career, hope he stays healthy in retirement!

moving forward. LMA will be missed in offensive spacing and length around the rim. Nets chemistry will be worse.

Wow, good for LMA to find out about this in time... that can be very difficult for a professional athlete. But he had a nice career and has enough $$ to live a good life. Have to take care of your health first man.

The Nets are really thin right now... not much depth down low. They are going to get abused by good big men/post players in general. We'll see if there's something they can still do, but it doesn't look good for them.

This doesn't have anything to do with player transactions, but I just wanted to post Steph's numbers in April:

    PPG: 40
    Reb: 7
    Ast: 4.5

    FG: 12.4/22
    FG%: 56.36

    3: 6.7/13.4
    3P%: 50%

    Uh.... what?!

I'm good with that ranking. I've always had Magic as #1 and the real Isaiah Thomas as #2. But Steph has a strong case for surpassing Thomas.
