How do you feel about a potential Finals matchup with the Nets assuming both teams are healthy?

I disagree I don’t think it will take a miracle right now we’re 31-19, which is 5th in the West. The team in 9th right now is the Spurs and they’re 5.5 games back I can’t see them making up that ground.

Not at all the Lakers just blew out the Kings, who are 22-28. The Raptors have a worse record then the Kings at 19-30, the Hornets and Knicks are hovering around .500. However, the Hornets lost Ball the likely ROY for the rest of the season and Hayward will also be out an extended period of time.

Really don’t understand all the doom and gloom this team has lost to elite teams like the 76ers, Clippers, and Bucks over the last week. We’ve been able to beat mediocre teams like the Magic, Kings, and Cavaliers.

That’s pretty much what I expect going forward until we get AD and LeBron, which should allow us to maintain our current spot at #5 or at worst drop one of two spots.

I think the doom and gloom is normal if you are missing two superstars, and just got a 3rd tier star who is immediately out. You could say pretty much any team missing 3 of their top five players is in trouble, but we might actually be able to float til the end. Things will have to fall right to have a happy ending, but nobody is holding their breath at this point.

What makes you think Grizz and SAS who are just 24-23 with the most games left to play will overcome us in the standings ?

It doesn't make sense mathematics wise .

We are 31-19 , even if ( likely) we only win 3 of the next 13 games before Bron and AD come back , we'll still be 5 games over 0.50.

Do you expect both Grizz and SAS to have a better record than 34-29 at this point ? It's very unlikely.

Even in this case we'll be 9th with 9 games left and at worst qualified for the play-in tournament

Basically this. They will sink for sure, but those bottom teams are quite bad and we should be able to get right back in after our stars return.

If we have to plai in to get in the playoffs, I like our chances. It’s also possible we could use an extra game or two for the guys to gel.

Beard will miss our next matchup, but they'll have KD back in the fold

This is going to be an issue for them regarding chemistry...

If KD plays , Vogel should play the end of our bench and gives 3 full days of rest to our current main players .

We aren't making the playoffs, so this whole thread is an exercise in futility.

I don't think the Nets have the type of defense and chemistry (yet) to beat the Lakers if the Lakers keep consequently brusing them inside.

If we play pretty basketball and start shooting pretty boy jumpshots, we don't have a chance. If we keep playing physical defense and abuse them in the paint, I feel good about this year.

Next year might be different but I think the Nets players aren't better than the sum of its parts...Harden, KD and Kyrie take away a lot of possessions from each other...so at the end of the day it isn't really an advantage when Harden is dribbling the ball instead of Kyrie...they are both pretty good.

I didn't watch the game, but I saw the stats with the Nets and Pelicans. The Nets blew them out. You would of thought Zion would had dominated them. He had a lousy game.

Lakers 3 point shooting will get better when everyone is locked in. They will have to get easy points and play good defense and dominate the boards. I think they could beat the Nets.

Let's see if these mental midgets make it through the East. A disciplined team like Miami (San Antonio East) might frustrate them and make them quit

With the injuries and ejections, it’s hard to draw too many conclusions from this game ... but man there is just no way they have the size to put up a fight against the AD’s.

After this game, if both teams are healthy, Lakers will beat them in five games.

No one is stopping AD. If Drummond can demolish them in the inside like that, who is guarding AD? Jeff Green or KD? Blake Griffin can't even guard my grandma... The interior is open season for the Lakers. Attack the paint and punish those skinny and soft dudes...
Schroder has just the tenacity and grittiness to make Kyrie work for every shot. That's the best you can hope for vs a player like Kyrie.
Harden is allergic to the playoffs.

This game showed the Lakers can go 10 DEEP... And I didn't even mention who will guard LeBron and Kuzma.. Nets don't have any good defenders. Once the Lakers impose their will on them, Nets will throw in the towel.

They don't even have size to deal with Bron. And putting LMA on Drummond is incomprehensible.

My main concern with them is the parade to the free throw line Harden, Durant, and Kyrie will get. Harden alone can get a team in foul trouble. Then add to that Griffin’s fish like flopping and if you get a gullible ref you’re in for a long night. But, if they call the games fair, we’d be fine.
