Klay has a better chance of coming to LA but that's 5 years from now he'll be declining & will have a Ray Allen (Miami Heat) type role here.

Hey man Schroder has to feed his family. Give a bro a break.

Seriously though it kind of sounds like someone ain't too happy in LALA Land...

Edit listening to his comments...Trevor Noah is overreacting to this, the man wants to see his options on the market for the first time in his career where he is now worth something on that market. It's understandable, all these guys want to have that summer of wineing and dining by teams. Get their enormous egos stroked.

Nets situation is this: They only started paying the luxury tax this year and everyone except Joe Harris falls of the books in 2023-2034. 2022-2023 would be their 3rd season paying the luxury tax. This means they can avoid paying the crazy 4th year-of-lux tax repeat offender tax depending on what they do at that point by not continuing into that 4th year of lux tax paying. This would likely mean dissolving the team. But these 3 years are insane as it is.

Next season (2021-2022) they are already nearly at the same amount as now (164+mil) assuming Spencer Dimwitted picks up his option, which he probably will, with only 8 players signed.

The following season, 2022-2023, they are already at $155+ million with only 6 people on the roster.

As it stands right now their tax hit this year is over 100 million. So it's a 268+ million dollar roster. Except they will get off lightly this season due to the NBA drastically reducing the lux tax bills on teams due to the pandemic and revenue losses. The tax bill will be about 1/3 of what it normally is, so about 33 million. Still over a 200 million dollar roster.

they're going all in on the offense-only philosophy, i guess. if they run him instead of zubac, that's immobile three point shooters for 48 minutes. it's like marc gasol, but without passing. we know how much people around here love that!

if they plan to play boogie over zubac they'll get absolutely killed in the paint against a healthy AD and drummond. ibaka is a good defender but he can't handle those two on his own

Gasol is shot, I'll never understand signing him over Cousins in the first place. I guess the Clippers are looking to counter us, by having size on the court whenever Montrez plays, to put him at a disadvantage in the paint on defense.

I think Boogie is intended to matchup with Harrell. Or really any of their three, has the advantage over Trez in the paint.

It's a chess game...I don't care for Gasol, but on the flipside, you are supposed to take advantage of what you have. Adding Drummond, moves Gasol to the bench. This is actually a blessing for Montrez, now he gets to do the same amount of work in the paint on offense, because Gasol stays on the perimeter. The upside is that he no longer has to battle with bigs in the paint on defense, Gasol get's that assignment. In effect Marc Gasol is being placed in a position to have more of an impact playing with the second unit, than he would have as a starter. Don't get me wrong, I would still rather have Cousins being used in the exact same way I just mentioned. Still...it is what it is..Marc isn't going to be looking to shoot a lot, and his passing would help the second unit by facilitating, it doesn't hurt to have a big body screener for Tucker and Caruso either around the top of the key.

Forcing teams to beef up could be to our advantage forcing teams to play lakers style of basketball instead of their own

Boogie is a good signing for the Tennants. They need size, Zu and Ibaka are soft.

That was a big factor in why we won the chip last season. Denver and the Clippers took note, even Philly added size with Embiid.

and knows how to fit into the team scheme (i.e., not taking all the shots, setting screens, passing, clogging paint on d). night and day, except they're both very slow and have trouble showing on the high screen and roll.

I don't know. I'm a fan of Boogie and am rooting for him but he can't guard a traffic cone and wouldn't be able to jump over an ant at this point in his career. At this point, he's just a mediocre floor spacer but there is a lack of options so I guess he's worth the risk.

I don't know ...Cousins dropped 28pts 17rebs and 5 assist against the Mavericks this year. He is on another level offensively than Gasol. I'm not sure Gasol's defense makes up the gap. I do believe that Gasol's value increases going to the second unit though.

Cousins is shooting 38% from the field scoring 10 points per game... I'm not sure what another level offensively means but it sure ain't that high if we're judging it based on what he's been doing lately...
