Speaking of Vlade, has anyone downloaded the Waze App and had Vlade guide them someplace in their car?

West I'm sure is well aware of the situation there and would be wary of taking on the place. Divac should try to get Stojakovic instead...or Chris Webber...or Doug Christie...or Mike Bibby.

I think so, too. It's a heck of an endorsement for Ryan, though. An Assistant Direct of Scouting for the Los Angeles Lakers already being sought after for a GM position for the Sacramento Kings. Great for Ryan and really speak to all the hard work he's putting in; I have a feeling this isn't going to be the only team that comes after him. There will be more. I just hope he stays in the family until Mitch retires and he can take over GM duties here in Los Angeles...

Agreed... He's building an attractive resume here and selfishly speaking, yes, I want him to stay with the organization to help the Busses manage it without The Doctor. His lineage alone speaks credibility and respect. Ryan West is no figurehead.

No. I think he has to take it. You are an assistant director of scouting. If you are offered the GM position of an NBA franchise, you have to take it. You may never get an offer like that again. He probably believes in his ability to fix the "mess" that's up there. And let's face it, he has Boogie and the #6 pick. It's a nice start to turn things around.

OK...what TRD and LTLF said. Divac should also try to see what Bobby Jackson is up to nowadays.

Oh, believe me, it is a heck of an offer and West I'm sure is confident in his abilities but from the stories of dealing with the meddling Vivek has to count as a negative. Maybe Divac would be a buffer between them. I thought Dolan was the only lunatic owner in The League.

Don't do it West. Climb the ladder in LA and take over for Mitch when he's ready to take a step back.

Lakers would need to step up somehow with a raise, new title and promise of consideration for GM of the Lakers when Mitch leaves. Ryan grew up in and around our F.O. for crissakes. Am sure his ole man has given him all of his tricks of the trade, and would continue to do so with him at the Lakers. Thank Philip for running the LOGO off.

@LTLakerFan according to Pincus, that's what role LA has in mind for him

Mitch has to be thinking about retirement soon. He's 61 years old.

I think Ryan should take the job objectively, but if he's patient here he could end up with a much better position in his legacy franchise.

Tough call. If I were him, I'd sit down with Mitch and see what the timeline looks like moving forward.

That is comforting news...keep our peeps in house and hire from within. I do hope he is not as high strung as his pops.

My guess would be 4 years barring any unexpected health scares. He might hold on to see if the team he built can get a ring, but I think that's an age realistic time frame.

When he's done as the GM, I'd like to see him move to some advisory role to ease the transition. Something with less stress and pressure.

Absolutely. In the meantime Ryan West helps build a contender a la Mitch back when Jerry was retiring.

Ryan is also pretty young. He could be at this for years and years.

Didn't Mitch get interest from teams back when he was Logo's assistant?

Be patient young padawan Ryan. Do not go to the cowtown dark side.

Doug Christie's wife would make a fine GM...it's a perfect fit for what's going on up there right now
