Yeah I think everyone is wondering this. What has Jerry West "nefariously" promised LaVar to help make it happen? Help him resurrect his suck a** Big Baller shoe company?

Yeah you’re definitely not the only one wondering this. I think Anthony might be onto something here

Ballmer can pay any tax the NBA will hit him with, he won't even notice it. Dude could buy all 29 teams and still have a few billions left.
That being said, i'll take Jeanie over any NBA owner.

they basically have no need for any of those guys. now, i could see them moving on from lonzo because they're worried about paying him, but not for that package. just let him walk. would you give that cash to zubac and beverly instead?

My "money" would have been on the Ball family convincing NO to let him walk so he could hook up with Melo in Charlotte.

Be honest. Were you with me and the contingent here supporting her keeping quiet and not doing a press conference to soothe the angst of the other contingent here while the whole NBA world was clowning the Lakers and Rob and the FO after Magic quit and did what he did to them afterwards? Just curious. She definitely handled it the right way. To walk into an agenda loaded press conference at that time would have been a no win situation, and she didn't deserve to be put into the situation Magic put her in.

Agree totally she is an amazing and smart and classy and compassionate owner.

I would take Lonzo back for KCP though. For sure. That extra 5 assists a game would be great for AD, Bron, Kuz and especially Trez.
His 3 point shooting is streaky, like KCP’s.

And he may be a better PG defender too.

Pels would never...be too much of a PR hit.

I want to say yes but then think of his father being back in our organization’s life. That’s such a drag.

I think that ship has sailed. Can’t see him returning here and I wouldn’t trade for him either.

LaMelo has been worth it, though. I still think Lonzo could end up being a really good starting PG for most teams. Would love to have him back if we didn't have Schroder but the likeliest team would probably be the Knicks for Lonzo. Plus, I'd love if the Lakers could still keep Caruso. Schroder with bird rights is huge so Lakers can save some cap there if they play it right.

if lonzo wants our MLE, he can have it for sure. high IQ, good athlete, plays both ends, winner, imo. but no way in hell do i pay him big bucks. he's, at best, pg shane battier. how many teams trade their starting pg for lonzo right now? do you trade DS for him? nope.

While you certainly make a point, I am just not sure I want anyone in the Ball family. Lavaar is such a load to have to deal with. I really do not want him near this organization. Would rather find someone else, as good as I think Lamelo is, there are other guys as good or better and I would rather pursue them.

I honestly haven’t watched Lonzo play this season, but the main thing that separates him and Melo as rookies is that Melo drives to the hoop all the time and hits his free throws. If Lonzo did that he’d be instantly a better player. Maybe he has this season, I know his free throw percentage is up a lot to 76%. If he drives to the hoop now he’s valuable, but if he still doesn’t he’s holding himself back and won’t take that next step yet. If he does now I’d absolutely take him back, because he’s fixed his three point shooting a well and is currently at 42%.
