Gasol played too much. Once he left the game for good we made our comeback.

    Caruso didn't play enough.

    Micro WMC: Free throws

Overall game review: They didn't play a good enough game to deserve the chance to break my heart at the end like that.

Eh, these losses happen. Remember the #1 seeded dominating Kobe/Shaq Lakers lost soundly against the 17-win Bulls? TWICE??!!

Yeah, I'm not too concerned. Drummond can get his, but if we make our free throws and continue pestering the wings, we got this series in 5 if we meet in the Finals.

The 4 6'9" guys plus Wes is a dreadfully bad lineup. It also forces Lebron to do more, since no one in that lineup can handle the ball or make plays for others. I hope Vogel retires the lineup.

Tough to pull him sooner though. He had 3 of the best assists in the game and really did a great job setting the table in the first quarter AND historically very few play Joel as well as he does.

Squad needs a rim protector besides AD. It's still a long season and getting home court is going to be tough.

Gasol is really struggling on the road and Trez against bugger guys can be rough. Another quality big would be nice

yeah, that wasn't the problem. we couldn't score. missed a ton of layups.

btw, didn't lose 2 in a row last year, did we?

i questioned the wisdom of playing AD last night and sitting him tonight, and now you've got 2Ls instead of one.

Really? Rose waltzed into the lane and that allowed Ellington and even Blake to start going off. Rose is still good but can't have him and Plumlee dominate the paint.

FYI I agree missing a bunch of bunnies and taking Caruso out of the game didn't help but the lack of a big was pretty apparent

Long roadtrip looks like some of the guys have hit a wall.

Hope they bounce back vs the C Bags on Saturday. It's actually a very good test, we have been having problems with teams have that big SG/SFs who can score.

    OK, I'm gonna b**** a little here. I don't do this often.

Gasol frigging hesitates on offense, blows his opportunity and then tries to make up for it. He doesn't often see the play in front of him in real time. He needs a second or two to process it and by then, it's over. Only he doesn't seem to know it's over and will try to make a move. Problem with Marc is he is just too slow. He needs to see the shot instantly and take it, when he hesitates, he needs to pass the ball because nothing good will ever come when he holds onto it and tries to make something happen.

As for the rest of the team, lots of bone headed plays the last two games and this game against Detroit, we looked like a college team. We were just plain bad.

FRANK!!!! Make some dang changes!!!! Letting Howard go, was a mistake. We need a quick defensive big. I can handle our guard rotation but I do tend to agree with others that say Denis should be coming off the bench. He should get minutes but I think he does not mesh really well with Lebron and Davis. He is not bad, just seems like he takes them out of their rhythm and perhaps vice versa.

Without Davis, our front court kind of sucks.

Fatigue shouldn't be too much of a factor with our depth .

Vogel is using it poorly though .

He has been bad in his in game rotations this season .

Waiting too long for bringing Dennis back while the team couldn't score in the 4th .

I think I've seen more ghosts in my life than Dennis-Montrez PNR ... These 2 are poorly used as they could be

The size of Griffin/Grant/Plumlee was hard to deal with, especially in the 2nd. And at one point every guard except THT was on the floor. A lineup of Schroeder, Caruso, Matthews, KCP, Harrel.

    :Magicshrug:

Am I crazy to think Cacok should get some minutes when AD rests? Or is he not ready?

my god, if i have to hear again about dwight howard/marc gasol (a swap we won)...

rose getting into the paint was on the perimeter defense, and he hit some circus shots, tbh. we let ellington go off before rose got into the game, and that was just pure laziness. dude is molasses and can't put the ball on the floor. him getting open means you're not paying attention. we did better in the second half on him until the wheels fell all the way off.

we make any shots last night, and det folds. it was a one point game with 8 minutes left. we scored 4 points after that. dwight howard wasn't going to do jack squat for us in this game. at all.

the story of the game was not taking det seriously, and then a series of odd little things going wrong right when we got things going (e.g., that sequence where harrell and kuz missed at the rim--both fouled, btw--and det got a three going the other way to turn what should have been a 2 or 4 point game into a 7 or 9 point game), then the complete failure to do anything offensively for nearly a full quarter to finish (that was fatigue, imo).

I think this only half the story. Yes I'd the bunnies went in it's a different game but one of the big reasons Detroit was able to keep it close.

The lack of rim protection showed when the perimeter defense did its job but detroit still scored in the lane (rose spin move) and the lack of size showed on the offensive glass. Plumlee outplayed our guys on the glass

i just really disagree. we had one too many centers last year, tbh. it's a luxury. if gasol gets hurt, we'll need another one, but teams don't need to carry two really big guys anymore--unless they're super talented. philly barely played dwight against us, for example.

we basically played neither center in two full playoff series last year. i just don't understand this weird drumbeat. we lost two straight--neither due to center problems. one was we played a good team and didn't shoot super great. the other was a lazy back to back loss wherein we overlooked the opponent and missed more layups than a 7th grade team.

these aren't reasons to adjust the roster.

Gasol will go down and AD is always hobbled. I say, let's grab another C.
