Schedule has been easy for the Lakers which should help them prepare for the better teams. They can make mistakes and learn from them while still being able to win.

Crappy loss, but at the same time I expected these early on as defending champs with key new pieces. This was the Spurs championship for this year. But yeah we need to fix some stuff, idiotic double teaming of players that didn’t need to be leading to a team that was scorching from three wide open from there all game. Really bad and lost offense too, just totally random, I don’t know what we’re running, guys like Shröder and Harrell look so lost still, we are not using them correctly.

This starting lineup is not working. Marc's feet is too slow to play with a center, Kuzma is not a 2.
Defense is doing a poor job rotating and the offensive pieces don't fit

Putting the Lakers in hole right off the bat and these teams gain a ton of confidence

Awful game tonight. No energy, no defense. We played one good quarter, the third, and that was it. AD probably should have sat if he's going to coast like that out there. Now we have a back to back tomorrow night.

Rotations will be tighter at one point ... More KCP and Caruso , less Kuz and THT ... We'll have some bad losses until then.

I guess/hope the team effort level will pick up when the schedule becomes more difficult

That 4-0 road trip was nice but this team still has a lot to work on.

we squeaked by against them twice when they were guarding gasol with derozan, didn't work when they were on fire from three on top of it. as i said in the other thread, we could have countered what they were doing if we cared a lot about winning this game. but we're obviously still in preseason mode and probably will be for the first 15-20 games.

it's also hard to beat the same team three times in basically a week.

What does to play with a center mean? Seems misphrased?

basically every loss is going to be pinned on gasol or kuzma for one reason or another, is what i can divine.

Meant to say with AD: a lineup with slow 5, another 4/5, 2 forwards is not working

I personally still think that Schroeder shouldn’t be starting.

Think it needs to be when healthy:

    Lebron
    KCP
    Matthews
    AD
    Gasol.

Schroder must look to pass first and then shoot. He gets into trouble when he feels he needs to make plays in the halfcourt, we have Bron for that.

I also wish he'd keep it simple with his passes. He's not a true PG, so please just stick to the basics. Rondo tried some difficult ones, ones that at least one point in time he was capable of making, because he got bored in the regular season. But with Schrod, I think he's just trying to be something he's not. He's a scoring guard who's capable of bringing the ball up and running the offense just enough to give the primary ball handler a break (Teague, CP3, Bron) either next to them or backing them up.

I agree. I'm 100% fine with Schroder taking those shots but there are opportunities to also make the extra pass that he just ignores because he has tunnel vision and so he takes a shot that is low percentage and then, his teammates are left standing there expecting that pass which then demoralizes their game knowing they won't get the ball. He's got to be smarter than that and hopefully Jared Dudley can get on him for that during film session. Another thing is he started the season off really well but has been in a funk lately. Those games wouldn't be close if Schroder was playing more efficient basketball. But considering the Lakers gave up nothing for him (Danny Green), I'm taking Schroder all day.

One of my very few complaints...

P&R just doesn't seem to be a popular action with Vogel in LA. I thought we could've used it more with AD last year, especially when Do was on the floor. This year I expected a heavy dose of it with Trez and Schroder and even a little sprinkled in with Marc. Bron is one of the best passers in the game, figured it'd be a default bail out play involving him and any teammate.

BUT we won it all last year and are #1 in the NBA right now, so what do I know.

In the end of the Pels game Bron ran like 3 PnRs in a row, all resulting in a good shot or a score. So... they have that. No need to up the usage, I think.

That is basically what I said the whole time Phil was our coach. For the most part I could not predict anything he would do. Riley was easy for me, almost made every change and called every timeout on cue. I could call most of them. Phil, I was never close. But he won, so what did I know!?!? Vogel makes most of the appropriate time out calls, knows when to mix things up. I have not figured out enough about the players to know when any of them should make plays. I just figure that Lebron will let them know!! :)

I don't disagree with JSM ... However PNR is heavily scouted by every team and is "easier" to stop in the playoffs .

We have it as an option as Zen said and I'd say we have run a decent amount of Lebron/AD PNR this season .

Overall I like the looks we are getting this season , a lot more than the ones we were getting last season
