He wont last and his lateral movement would be a massive hole the way Vogel sets up his defense.

and? i never said boogie had either of those things over marc.

i think youre misunderstanding me in thinking that im saying we should have taken boogie instead of marc.

i think we should have signed both

Boogie will not last the season or won't be effective. He's finished. Let it go. The only reason why McGee and Howard worked last year was because they were unselfish and on a leash. Lakers needed youth and skill and they got both with a team already stacked and with the 2 best players in the world. They do not need bench players who are has beens who cant stay healthy.

i wanted both, too. but i think cousins wants a chance to showcase, and once we signed gasol, it was possible cousins would have been second string even if healthy. i get why he's there, for both parties (though i'm sure christian wood was a bit wtf).

Cousins looked really good and so did Wall. I still think they are a top five team assuming Wall is 75% of his old self and Cousins stays healthy. Cousins would've been nice to get but I'm pretty sure he wants his minutes so he can get a nice contract. If we didn't get Marc, it's very likely Cousins signs with the Lakers.

boogie isnt done, he may get hurt again but hes no more done than Marc, if any 1 watched tor/bos series youd think Marc was done himself

I have been a Laker fan my whole life. No one overrates players more than Lakers fans. All this talk about bigs and depth and skill sets. No matter how much AD hates playing center, when you watch Game 6 of the Finals, the man single handedly shut down entire team. AD got s*** for not getting enough rebounds a couple of games, but the guy was guarding two and 3 guys at a time all over the court, not boxing out and looking for rebounds. The team didn't need that, they had others who could rebound. I do not think the schleps on TV really watch the games. They just regurgitate what the box score says or what some other d****** commentary says. I think the Lakers fans have this issue sometimes too.

You do not think Vogel or Manos from Above would have pounced on Cousins if they thought he had something? Vogel's defense with AD as the anchor might have ended small ball. Why? Because of the exact things I said above. Portland got waxed. Houston got waxed, Denver has more of an inside outside game, they got waxed. The Heat played out of their mind for 2 games and were below average the other 4. They killed the C Bags and Bucks with small ball and all the 3 point shooting. Couldn't do that against the Lakers. Why? You know now why.

Marc Gasol is a former DOPY. He has extremely high BB IQ. His skill set works PERFECT with the talent on this team. Cousins doesn't. Cousins is an offensive minded big who doesn't have lateral movement and is injury prone. Gasol isn't a ballerina but he is smart enough to play the angles and Vogel will be able to use his smarts and ability to the highest possible effect.

    well said.

I can get behind this kind of reasoning as opposed to continuously claiming that Cousins is DONE!!!
