Exactly. He basically has Kobe's scoring ability...and NONE of everything else that made Kobe so special. You can't bow to that type of players whims.

:Magicwow4: ..... sorry Savs don’t think you thought that part through well. In their primes, which I guess Harden is still in, no way Jose. Kobe had so many MORE ways and derivatives off those ways plus far more ability above the rim to score the ball, not to mention the ambidexterity.

Scoring ability is the ability to score points. He is absolutely as good of a scorer as Kobe. The man has averaged 34, 36, 30, 29, 29 over the last 5 seasons. Kobe never had a run like that. Kobe was more talented. Kobe didn't score as many points by tricking the refs into fouls. But scoring ability is just that, and Harden's numbers say he is as adept as putting points on the board, no matter how he goes about it, as Kobe.

Nope, no, nah. If Kobe was given the same leeway and calls that Harden has gotten over the last five seasons he would have averaged 50ppg.

Maybe. But all I can go off of is numbers. Harden's pure numbers are comparable. Kobe was better at literally everything else by a significant margin.

But he didn't, hence Harden's scoring ability is as good as Kobe's.
Points are points, it doesn't matter if u dunk the ball 20 times, make 13 threes or 40 free throws.

I disagree. Westbrook is a better player than Wall but the fit doesn't make sense. Wall is more naturally a pass-first player so he's going to try and find the open guy. I have a very low opinion of Westbrook, to be honest. He's more of a physical specimen of an athlete than a basketball player. I believe the Rockets can still be a top team and with Woods, they can make some noise. Harden is still capable of leading bad teams to the playoffs. I really don't get the Harden hate here. I dislike watching his style but if the refs are going to blow the whistle, it's really not his fault for trying to get the call. Harden is probably a top five SG in NBA history right now. Imagine if we had him, LeBron, and AD. It'd be game over. Let's not act like he isn't an elite level player and by far the best SG since Kobe/Wade.

Depends how you split hairs on the semantics of “ability”.

All things equal (external unfair advantages removed), Kobe has superior scoring ability.

Just going by numbers and ignoring outside unfair variables, they’re equal.

I tend to think the first explanation is more accurate, otherwise you could conclude this dude has the same leaping ability as Vince carter.

    triggered.

um, no. it absolutely is his fault that he plays in a dishonorable fashion. you'd never let that s*** happen in a pickup game. ever. you'd be laughed out of the gym for acting like that. excusing it because he (and ONLY he) gets away with it is ridiculous.

i don't think he's any better than prime joe johnson or gilbert arenas, or what beal is now. he just gets the whistle and has a franchise committed to his stats over their success.

AAAANNNNYYWWAAAYYY...where does your support for woods being an "animal" come from? his 12 games as a starter on a team that decided simply not to pay him MLE money after he statted up in a lost portion of the season?

though i think i see our source of disagreement: i think putting up stats whilst losing is pretty useless.

the only time harden's team wasn't a side show was when he was their second best player (the cp3 years). if wall can't be wall (he can't), they're back to a novelty act.

and say what you will about westbrook, he shows up and plays hard. his problem in houston was their lazy approach to everything, and he was right.

Lol, what's your issue? Why would I be triggered over the Rockets and James Harden?

    'Dishonorable.'

What does that even mean? James Harden gets fewer free throws than most NBA players when you consider the amount of time the ball is in their hands. When Russell Westbrook shot nearly the same amount of FT's as Harden, no one ever said anything.

Next you talk about stats. Rockets were very close to beating that Warriors team when they had KD. They were up 3-2 but then CP3 got injured and the Rockets missed like 23 threes in a row in the 4th Q of game 7. They didn't win the chip but in three of their losses in the playoffs were to the eventual NBA champions, the Warriors. Those Warriors teams smoked the Cavs...

And I love how you mention Westbrook like this dude isn't the biggest stat stuffer in NBA history. He chased down rebounds from his teammates and in one game, literally stopped trying to score the ball when he was wide open because he wanted to pad his assist # for a triple double.

Yes, Harden puts up stats while losing... How many players have won the NBA title vs the Warriors at their peak? LeBron is the only player. You trying to pin this specifically on Harden shows a weird hate obsession you have with the guy. I have no care for Harden or the Rockets. I just don't hate the guy because of a few calls that he gets every game that you dislike. The fact you think I'm triggered has more to do with you being illogical than fact-based. James Harden is the best SG since Kobe/Wade and here you are claiming he's just Bradley Beal or prime Joe Johnson.

Woods averaged 22/10 on 56% shooting from the field and 40% from three. He's got a lot of the defensive capabilities that Davis has which is why Trevor Lane stated that Christian Woods would've been his ideal free agent to pick up this season for the Lakers. He's got a lot of potential to be top five in his position.

Anyywayyys, you clearly don't have a fact-based response other than you hate James Harden. Yeah, I'm totally triggered.... and disappointed by someone who thinks James Harden = as good as prime Joe Johnson. LOL.... if that's not hate, I don't know what is.

    no. i was triggered.

    absolutely. yes. no honor.

    could probably stop here.

oh yes, let's use one unprecedented and terrible stat to support the other.

at least westbrook proved he could get past people. harden just runs into them and counts on the refs. until the playoffs, when they're too embarrassed to keep it up.

yes. chris paul led the rockets to a near upset, then harden s*** the bed, per usual.

and harden stops shooting when his percentages look bad so he can tout his efficiency. i've never questioned westbrook's heart or harden's lack thereof.

i'm illogical and you're in threads claiming a height range determines efficacy.

keep on with your harden worship. i'll take joe johnson and gilbert arenas. bet they wish cp3 could have carried them for a couple years to shine up their resumes.

i mean, i guess they should win the title with mj and hakeem, right?

the fact that you misunderstood literally from the outset kind of says it all. joe johnson would own his a**. bigger, stronger, just as quick, played both ends, didn't rely on the refs. led his team to the same level of mediocrity.

The fact you think Joe Johnson is better than James Harden is all I need to know about your BBIQ. Nothing else needs to be said.

As for Westbrook, LOL... There's a reason no one in the league wants him right now. He's the most stubborn player in the NBA. He puts out a lot of effort because he's got insane athleticism to do things other players can't. The fact that he hasn't changed his game and no team wanted him (other than the Wizards who basically gave up a John Wall who has missed years in the NBA) is pretty evident of how valuable Westbrook is around the market. But hey, now he has Bradley Beal (who is equivalent to James Harden). How much do you want to bet they miss the playoffs and the Rockets make it, then?

Most NBA fans put Harden in their top 6-7 NBA players right now. It's not me worshiping Harden as much as it is you having a horrible take when it comes to Harden.

Which I already mentioned was due to the fact that Wall was injured and is coming off a torn ACL/achilles... But keep going...

Kobe wanted to win titles. Harden wants to win scoring titles. Harden is the Adrian Dantley of this era. If Kobe set his sights on stats from. 2005-2010, he would have won every scoring title and scoring category in the league.
