I loved having Westbrook on the Rockets as a Laker fan. Felt like coaxing him into trying to run Houston’s offense instead of Harden was our best defensive strategy.

Yet somehow the Rockets pull off a trade that makes them even less threatening. Felt they should have tried to trade Westbrook for some depth, even if they weren’t getting any notable players. Instead they go with another PG who can’t shoot and has had waning athleticism, only this one is coming off some serious injuries?

And I actually do like it for Washington. Think Westbrook and Beal will be a decent fit. The last few spots in the Eastern conference playoff standings will be fun to see play out.

Wall + Westbrook + Bertans + Thomas Bryant + Robin Lopez sneaky threat in the (L)eastern Conference. If they're healthy they could send Giannis or Boston home in the 1st round

I think you meant Beal, but yes, should be interesting. Must be a little frustrating to be Russell Westbrook right now.

by all accounts russ requested to be traded. true or not, who knows.

but if he did indeed request a trade, you reap what you sow

Their bigs will get destroyed by the Bucks and Heat, but making the playoffs again is a big step for the Wiz.

Brooks reunites with Westbrook and Wall reunites with Boogie.

i think dc knows that beal is a star and he needs another one. beal/wall when healthy was a solid 1/2 punch, and i think the russ/beal can be, too, in the east. especially because beal stepped his game up a lot the past couple years (imo).

i get it from washington's end. i don't get it from houston's as much. that protected pick is worth that much to you? or just getting westbrook out?

edit: and yes, i do think wall may have more in common...off the court...with harden than westbrook or paul did. but that's not necessarily a great thing...

Yep, he’s a shooter who can’t shoot. Anybody can put up 20 if they take 30 shots.

Westbrook+Beal make the playoffs. As for Houston, who knows what they are doing.

It’s a good move for Washington simply because they’ll get a guy that actually plays. I didn’t think Washington would ever get off of that Wall contract. Who knows if the guy will ever be close to the same, I can’t even remember the last time I saw him play. I also like it because now Harden is left as the lone star on the Rockets again and they feel even less relevant, I hope they refuse to trade him and make him play out his deal.

John Wall got fat just before the 2 injuries...

Now take that, add 2 years of sitting around with minimal cardio workouts because he couldn’t walk with the torn ACL AND torn Achilles....

... and that is what Houston is getting.

I love that Houston is screwed for the next decade.

Morey ran that ship into a sand bar but hopped off on a helicopter just before it crashed.

ANALytics my friends. ANALytics. Kevin Cash had a pitcher who struck out the top 3 hitters on the Dodgers 6 times in 6 + innings and had only thrown 73 pitches up to that point. But ANALytics told him to take him out. And now he is Manager of the Year. hahahahahahahhaha. Unreal. Morey went to a team who's main guys can't stay healthy or shoot. BUT, ANALytics folks.

haha, the rockets think they'll be competitive with harden and john wall who hasn't played in 3 years? maybe if they're talking about competing for the 10 seed

the east sucks, so i can see the wizards getting into the playoffs as the 6-8 seed. they won't make it out of the first round, but they'll get in
