And considering OKC is in full rebuild/tank mode, I would not be surprised one bit if they trade Ariza again

But at least the Clippers were able to hold on to Morris for a small fortune

Crazy how Trezz was only $1.5 million more. Another loss to the Flippers, LOL... Their biggest offseason move is Ty Lue haha

I think it's unlikely, he's making $12 million in salary, fully guaranteed. So OKC probably won't be buying him out, and we don't want to trade for him.

If he somehow does become a free agent though, scooping him and Marc Gasol for the minimum would be awesome. Ariza coming back to where he first made his name, bringing us back a part of the Laker family who we saw win a championship alongside Kobe. Marc finally playing for the team that drafted him. In an ideal world we get fans back later in the season and Marc gets to witness Pau's jersey retirement live.

Paul Milsap would be nice for vet minimum if we can't get Markieff back. Nice opportunity for Milsap to win a ring.

I'll be happy with KCP and Gasol at this point, then we can fill the rest with vet mins.

Those two would give us much needed options. Anything less than that and I'll start to get worried.

Trezz and Green were the only Clippers who showed up in Game 7 against Denver. The only two that showed some dog in them that I had any modicum of respect for. Not just saying that because we signed Trezz either, I specifically remember having that impression at the time even if I still overall disliked Harrell. It's just a fact that most basketball fans watching that game would recognize. Both of them gone.

The Clippers Mozgov'd Marcus Morris. Reminder, they traded away a pick to put themselves in position for this contract. Perfect example of the sunk cost fallacy.

And they got Ty Lue. The coach that our front office (whose judgement should now have some respect to it) decided wasn't worth 4 years. They had to give him 5 years.

One of the only moves they may still have in their pocket may very well end up being giving Rondo the same MLE contract we gave Harrell. Rondo, who we have made expendable by acquiring a superior younger PG for pretty much nothing.

    Great offseason for Ballz.

This is why 90% of NBA teams will never win a Championship. They can all talk about small market teams being at a disadventage, players forming super teams etc. But the truth is, they keep paying mediocre players crazy money year after year after year. Good luck...

    Gasol would be fine.

Dennis, AC, SYG (some young guy)
    Mathews, KCP or Blaze, THT
Bron, Kuz, Melo (esp if Kuz is traded)
    Ad, Kief, Antetekumpo
    McGee, Trezz, Gasol

    McGee/Harrell/Gasol
    AD/Morris/Ante
    Lebron/Kuz
    KCP/Matthews/THT
    Schroeder/AC

Then look to see who you might get later in the season.

Or maybe the Lakers work out a sign-and-trade to a different team. In January, I reported that the Lakers had trade talks with the Kings, who offered Nemanja Bjelica and a pick to the Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, and Los Angeles countered by asking for Bogdan Bogdanovic. L.A.’s pursuit hasn’t stopped. On Friday, The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Eric Nehm reported that the Lakers are pursuing a sign-and-trade for Bogdanovic, who’s sign-and-trade deal to the Bucks fell apart. League sources confirmed the report: The Lakers are indeed pursuing Bogdanovic, though the Hawks are considered the favorites.

The Kings may not have wanted to trade Bogdanovic to the Lakers before the deadline, but now they don’t have much of a choice. The alternative is losing him to the Hawks (or another team with cap space such as the Knicks), to an offer sheet that’s more than they’d like to spend, multiple league sources say. Of course, the Kings could match any offer sheet he receives. But they just drafted a guard in Tyrese Haliburton, gave $163 million to De’Aaron Fox, and still have a disgruntled Buddy Hield. Maybe, just maybe, the Kings would be better off taking KCP and Kuzma even if it means helping their interstate rivals get better.

If the Lakers get Bogdanovic, it’d only further bolster their team with a shotmaker with a knack for clutch moments. He won countless championships playing overseas before entering the NBA, and he’s even authored a number of gamewinners in Sacramento, including one against the Lakers.

it’s The Ringer but still interesting
