I’m still not convinced Durant is ever the same again. I hope he is, you don’t want to see a star like that go out on not their own terms, but he’s 32, and that’s an injury that claims most, even Kobe wasn’t the same. It’s only going to be his 13th season, and he’s always been thin, so maybe that helps, but I just don’t know. I’d have to see how he looks before I say they win the East that easy. He’ll always be able to shoot over anyone, but the rest of his game might suffer.

I think he'll play heavy minutes WITH Lebron. He only averages 4 assists, so that means he he can score off the ball or iso's a lot to average nearly 19 points a game. I haven't paid attention to his game, so I'm not sure which is true.

A couple more names that will hit the market if Lakers want to shore up the backup PF/C positions with some shooters...Aaron Baynes and Frank Kaminsky. Wouldn't be bad replacements if Morris goes

Late night thoughts...what do you guys think about Melo for vet min?

We saw Rob/Frank/Bron turn Dwight and Rondo's careers around. Is that doable for Melo here.

If he can help keep the team afloat during the regular season so that AD/Bron can rest for playoffs that would be huge. Big risk though.

Melo and his media career can take off here in LA if he doesn't mind coming over for the vet min.

Didn’t want Melo last season because I wanted this team to be built on defense and team first guys, wanted to see them prove they could get it done first, and also wanted to see if Kuz could grow in his role. Now, I’d take Melo. He showed last season he still had something left and could accept a role, and our team showed they were capable of having guys like Dwight, Waiters, and JR Smith on the roster and still winning it all. If they could win with those guys they could do it with Melo, and also I’m good on seeing what Kuz has, no one is gonna hold him back if he earns time, that’s up to him. But I don’t think Melo comes here, it would probably be a smart move on his part if he did, but I don’t see it, if LeBron wanted him you’d have to think he’d have been here last year.

Yeah, I agree. I think he wants a bigger role. If we unloaded Kuz too, I think he'd come here. But there's too much of a chance for him that Kuz eats up opportunities for him.

defensive minded is good when you have plenty of offensive weapons

spaces the floor adequately and defends without looking for his own shot....what's not to like?

It's curious that a team with that much cap space is the most active team on the trade market. Wonder if they're dangling their pick and cap space to eat a big contract?

yeah...it really seems like something harden wants, but i just don't see the nets having enough to make it worth houston's while. not a single allstar in the bunch. it's an inferior package to the one we sent for AD by a longshot, imo. and harden's trade value isn't quite as high as AD's, but it should be higher than this.

yeah, i'm skeptical he's going to be the durant we knew. especially on defense, where he improved a lot over time, imo. offensively, will he still have that good first step that really separated him?

I'm wondering how we're going to handle this "wing" situation...

Green is gone and Bradley is likely gone.

If you can sign Matthews, that helps, but we may need 1 more guy...

Any suggestions? Anybody for the min? ..

Not sure of price tags, but I'd call Baze, Justin Holiday, Crowder, and Etwaun Moore to fill that role.

Good. Houston won't be as good, James will head East, and Brooklyn will give up the house on a trio led by: Durant, Kyrie, and Harden.

Implosion ahead....that all works for me.

saw someone floating harkless, which would make a lot of sense to me. others mentioned justin holiday. i think the MLE might be used on a wing, maybe depending in part on what howard does.

crowder is another higher dollar option.

is denver going to keep torrey craig?

rondae hollis-jefferson interested me last year and continues to do so.

    garrett temple? GRIII?

on the cheaper end, solomon hill, MKG, jeff green, and even our old pal nwaba should all be available.
