Hmm, just looked it up. In 22 minutes a game he put up 9 points on 40% three point shooting on decent volume (2 three pointers made a game). On its own that seems to be pretty decent, but I don’t know how his all around game has been, if he’s a defensive liability, if most of his numbers still come in garbage time or were inflated from being on a bad team, etc.

In retrospect, that was also a very bad trade. People crap on the Zubac trade, but we were never going to re-sign him. Meanwhile we have up Svi for Bullock who didn’t really do anything for us. Would love to have Svi for dirt cheap this upcoming year.

Well then, forget it. We need people who can stay on the court. OK, Danny Green wasn't that great all season, but at least you could count on him not sitting next to Kidd in a suit.

Svi gona get a decent raise, maybe 3-5M for 3yrs or something and yes that was a bs trade, Svi wasnt rdy here n luke sucks as hc, he has somewhat ruined Hield gm in regards to 3pt shooting as well

disregard the surgery part, looked it up and it said he just randomly had tendanitis in both knees, missed 36gms this yr but supposedly the break/quarantine gave him time to be 100%...still though to get tendanitis randomly like that would suggest it could come back any time randomly as well

I think he has a team option for this upcoming year for under $2 million though. We’d probably be unable to retain him the following year, but had we kept him we’d have him locked up for cheap for 2021.

Although, while his salary seems cheap right now, all the maneuvering we were doing for the AD trade seemed pretty delicate. I’m not sure if Svi’s ~$1.5 million would have thrown things off and so we would have had to dump him the same way we did with Wagner, Bonga, etc anyways

Please bring me up to speed on Oladipo's injury history. The big one was a quad tear away from one of his knee joints I believe, correct? That unto itself can you come back with help from good surgeon and be mostly 100% again? But then last year he only played a limited number of games and got sidelined again? What happened there? He and Boogie could bond over those quad injuries .... great for chemistry.

NBA will start new season on December ,22 and will play 72 games.
Hopefully we can go to Lakers season opener without any masks or social bullshiting

Pelinka reveals (or confirms) the Lakers plans about moving forward in free agency this off season and next off season.

Here are the cliff notes and what we can infer:

    1. The Lakers will keep cap room to sign another young star in the 2021 off season, so that when LeBron declines, AD will have another young player to compete for championships on into the future.

    2. If we're targeting another young star, that means the Chris Paul rumors are out.

    3. He wants to keep as much of the core of this championship team together as possible, and win another championship this upcoming season.

    4. If they are keeping the cap room to sign another young star in 2021 off season, any new contracts will most likely be for 1 year.

Yes, basically rules out CP3 unless LeBron really pushes for it. I love how Rob answered these questions. Yes, this team goes where Lebron takes us but we also have to be prepared as a franchise to build around AD when the time comes for it. Rob is prepared at all facets to make sure our franchise can stay relevant and compete. Thanks for the summary. I had planned to listen to it but it is reassuring knowing that we have a solid plan going forward.

This was my biggest concern I had with Lebron coming to LA when he signed. He leaves a wake of destruction to franchises in his rear view mirror when he’s gone. Good to know Rob has a contingency plan to stay competitive post LBJ.

It also indicates they are absolutely aiming at GreekFreak in 21. No one else on that list fits the profile of what Rob described except maybe Gobert, and I doubt they are building an entire plan like this for Gobert. Of course, if we whif on the Freak, pairing Gobert with AD would be a dominant block party on D.

this other star needs to be like a poor mans lebron lol, basically a wing that can score at all 3 lvls and setups teammates for easy looks....my dream scenario, INGRAM....he takes qualifying offer this upcoming season and signs out right here as an UFA regardless if NOP trades him or not lol.

I would be happy to welcome BI back to pair with AD. He's like a low energy version of the GreekFreak, except while he gives up some in the other areas, he is already a better shooter.

Giannis+AD+Bron. Hmmm, we're going to need a lot of shooters but I believe it would still work since Giannis defense and paint presence would be too much for teams to handle.

    Giannis
    AD
    Bron
    KCP
    JJ Reddick (for minimum)

Lebron never left teams with a mega Prime AD on it. Lakers will be fine. Plus, this is the Lakers and David Stern isn't alive to destroy them.

^^^ 38-40% on 3s each should be possible. With their talents on D and both improved handles a year and a half and another season under their belt .... anything over 36% it would be a win to have them out there. Just sayin’. This isn’t impossible that kind of improvement both these guys with Handy and Penberthy working with them.

don't like the giannis plan like i didn't like the leonard plan. we've got lebron and AD. let's win now. did it once. let's do it again. the more success you have now, the more likely guys like giannis and whoever's next want to play here. the clippers pay lee jenkins a lot of money for that kind of effect. whereas the lakers just win.

point being: make good decisions that put you in position to compete now without completely crippling you (don't give rondo 3 years 30 million, for example) and trust that if a giannis wants to play here, you'll be able to make it happen, as miami did with butler last summer or houston did in getting cp3 a few years ago. you don't need to have cap space or even the best assets--you need to have the motivation on the player's behalf and not to be completely hamstrung by bad choices. you can control both to some degree.
