Chris Paul is still awesome. If we can assure getting good depth, it may be what we have to do to repeat. But it's... Extreme.

Bradley Beal is the guy I want. I just don't see how we make that happen. If there is anyway to do it, you go all in because he's 27, can shoot lights out and would be a perfect complement to Lebron and AD (at least offensively). Run AC Fresh out there with him in the starting lineup to help with the D and there you go.

That said, I can see how we can go after CP3 but wow, that is really putting all of our eggs in one basket and the injury risk scares me off. Not to mention that I can't stand the guy. But I couldn't stand Karl Malone and I rooted for him as a Laker.

I'm fine with going after Oladipo if that happens.

I mean, I know they weren't here for it, but this would end up being the Steve Nash trade all over again.

Also, with the cap at 109, how do we fit 41 million Chris Paul, 39 million Lebron and resigning AD (at 30 million)? We need room for cap holds for 9 players at that point. Am I missing something? Isn't this literally impossible?

I'm no Cap expert, but I don't see how a CP3 trade is doable at all.
Seems the Lakers need to be looking more in the $20-30 Million range if they're looking to trade. Olidipo & Beal type guys.
CP3 was ballin' last Year, but too old & too expensive.

God I sure hope it is. I don’t want 3 stars and players 4-12 pulled off the street on minimum deals. We won this year because of the depth, versatility and defense surrounding our 2 stars. We don’t need Paul, we just need to add one or two nice pieces to what we have.

    Quick question:

How would everyone feel about trading Kuz and Green for Buddy Hield? I saw it on one of the twitter pages and thought it was a good idea. Unless Beal is better, although I think Hield is a better shooter from the 3? Curious to know what people here think about it.

The only way I am OK with CP3 here is if Bron says he has to have him. I don't see how or why he'd do that, especially since he just won one without him. If he didn't go to bat for Melo when he was a FA, I don't envision him doing that for one of the biggest contracts in the league. And if that was to occur, he and Klutch would have to call in every favor with every client they have to round out the roster.

Yup. I want to see if we can get Oladipo for Kuz, Green and a pick. Then throw the MLE at Gallo. Resign Rondo on Early bird rights and hopefully resign Dwight and Cousins. I think we could probably get a decent ring chaser for the minimum to replace KCP. Do you think Redick would sign for the minimum? Maybe some other ring chaser for PF? I don't know. I feel like that team is way better than CP3, Lebron, AD and 9 minimum salary players.

    Dwight/Cousins
    AD/?
    Lebron/Gallo
    Oladipo/Redick
    Caruso/Rondo

I’d take Noel, Favors, or Okafor regardless of what happens Dwight and McGee. If they do stay, which I’m guessing they are, shoring up our post presence will only be a good thing imo.

I also hope Boogie can get healthy and take another pay cut to run with us again.

My problem with this is Hield's contract is long. He's not good enough to be AD's Robin when Lebron retires. I want to maintain cap flexibility for next offseason to hopefully get a real superstar or almost superstar. Beal can be that guy. If we can trade for Beal (we can't by the way as Washington would get offers that would DWARF what we could give), he's good enough to forgo the 2021 cap space plan. Hield is NOT good enough to forgo that. It's why I like Oladipo om that slot. He is expiring.

That makes sense. I like Hield, but I agree on the contract. That’s an all-star level contract and he’s not an all-star...yet. I think the contract was premature. I’m not really sold on Oladipo though, but the expiring is a reason I’d deal with it.

i just don't think its possible to trade for talent like beal, oladipo, or cp3 with the pieces we have

teams are not going to trade those guys for kuzma and green, it's just not gonna happen. galinari should be the main focus right now. guy who can shoot and help spread the floor. plus he's expressed interest in winning a title. bringing back guys like dwight and kcp should be on the list as well

i agree that Beal is a longshot with the pieces we have... Oladipo is possible but not probable... FVV is slightly more feasible... but these take into account salary only... @432J you're exactly right... who would trade those guys for Green, Kuz, and some fillers? No one. Gallo is our best shot, then we fill out the roster and position ourselves for '21.

CP3 seems to be impossible from a cap standpoint.

Oladipo is possible simply because he's an expiring. No team is going to want to give up a lot for a player coming off a major injury and is not a guarantee to resign. A pick, a good young player and an expiring is probably about what the market will dictate for Oladipo.

Beal? Unless we have very compromising photos or audio of Ted Leonsis going full Donald Sterling, we have no shot at Beal. He was a top 15 player in the league this season.

Early Bird Rights, not full Bird.

I like this, but Gallo is more of a 4 at this stage of his career. We’d need more of an athletic wing with this roster.
