Rob seems like a really great person in interviews. I can see why players would have loved him as a manager and friend.

Likewise, I can see how his cut throat nature to get the best for his clients lead to a lot of distrust and dislike from others :) lol

    Where do we even start?

Get this man a statue please.

The disrespect from people WITHIN the Lakers org to people outside, and fans as well, was deeeeep.

I will admit that I also didn't have much faith in this man - I wanted a more experience exec that could help groom Rob.

But credit to Jeanie for keeping him as THE man. He's now in the Bob Myers category for successful agents that turned GM.

His job is about to get even easier this summer....players will be clamoring to come play here

    Take a bow, Rob!

Haven’t had a chance to watch yet. Who besides his problems with Magic had a problem with him internally?

The real one or the one who was a curious LB member here for the Snake chase in between jet setting business trips and then poof never came back after the chase was over?

Edit. OK have seen now. Awesome championship presser. Just great. No one is ever going to outwork Rob AND Kobe. Kobe’s spirit and work ethic lives in him it’s very clear listening to Rob.

To me the most surprising things he said, I believe 3 times .... vs pretty much all our pre-conceived notions about LeBron were that he is incredibly genuine. That’s an adjective he didn’t have to come up with considering all the other traits he could have referenced and did reference. Leader. The photographic mind for basketball detail. Dedication to the physical preparation and basketball skills. So many things he could have said but he kept it to leader .... making a point to keep the team focussed in the tough 100 days of the bubble, “compassion” and 3 times came back to “genuine”.

I am not sure I would go that far yet. LeBron James and Rich Paul made his job much easier.

Good point...I guess I was referring more to us Lakers fans and Lakers Insiders on Twitter, not the Lakers Org themselves lol

With Rondo and KCP opting out and teams being interested in Kuzma, with Green's big expiring on top of it... Rob will be very busy. I hope we can re-tool efficiently and be a legitimate contender next year as well.

As long as we have LBJ + AD we will be legit contenders. I'm trusting Rob's proven scrambling skills to fill out a nice roster.

Would be tough to replace KCP imo . He's inconsistent but can be , at times , one of the best 2 way role players in this league

Yeah I don’t want to lose KCP, he turned it way around on defense, has shown himself to be a scorer in big games, and above all else he never misses games due to injury. He’s always available, he’s so available we take it for granted at this point. I think above anyone else we’d have the hardest time replacing what KCP and Dwight brought this year, stability and knowing their roles.

I agree, but I am sure we can find a way to keep him. Now, if he ends up getting something like $17M/year from someone, then... we're just not going to do it.

I do strongly agree with this, but I would like to have some kind of permanent role-player core in addition to our two stars. Like, KCP+Caruso+New Guard+LBJ+AD+Coach Vogel. Maybe Dwight if he stays. That insures good chemistry and then you can just take some new role-players and ring-chasers in the future and plug them in. But you already have your starting 5 as well as the 6th man and others will fall in line. Culture and chemistry is important too.

I'm on board. No way I'm trading Caruso unless it means something HUGE. I would like to keep the Eagle, KCP, and Dwight for the next couple of years at least.

As Kendrick Perkins said, Caruso is the heart and soul of the Lakers. He's universally loved by his team mates and fans because he makes a mockery of the cult hero status he has by genuinely coming out and balling, and doing all the things needed to win.

I'd be so reluctant to let CarusGOAT leave.

Free agents are going to be lining up to get a chance to be with Rob.

Look at the change of fortunes for Dwight, Rondo, Avery...vets many of us thought were dunzos

I love how this is shaping up to be a very active off season. Everyone jockeying to compete with us. Then out of nowhere, we're the first team to unofficially make a move and get even better. Sets the tone for this off season. In Rob we trust.
