Many people already think he will never be the GOAT.

Oh we are going to celebrate like crazy if we win, it’s just a huge downer to lose a game like that is all, very deflating, especially not getting a last last shot at it because of the ball being thrown out of bounds. If we lose the series though, it’s absolutely a failure, they were without 2 of their 3 best players for 3 games, without their 2nd highest scorer since game 1, we have the best 2 players in the series, and we were up 3-1. If you don’t close that with the odds stacked in your favor it’s an epic choke, one I will not have witnessed as a fan in my lifetime, even losing to the Suns up 3-1 we were never supposed to even be at that point, we were the 7th seed and everyone was waiting for us to fall apart. If just ONE bench player in game 5 shows up we win that game. Just one. They shot a combined 5-22 overall and 1-11 on threes (Morris, Kuz, Rondo, Caruso). They picked the wrong game to collectively disappear, and that is what’s so frustrating, we had the win right there and outside of LeBron, AD, and KCP, nobody showed up. We have to win this series, losing after being up 3-1 on an undermanned Heat team would be disaster to multiple players legacies.

No doubt if the Lakers end up blowing this series, his goat status is gone for sure. It won't even be a question at that point.

I agree with OX here. If he drops it, he's not in the conversation anymore. People will doubt it even if he wins, but at least they will talk about it. I think Bron knows this and I think our role-players also know that their future (contracts) in the league depend on their performance here. At this point, there has to be a sense of urgency among them, so I expect a good game tonight.

Clearly on Bron’s mind as his level of barking at mistakes has risen the closer we get.

not much more Lebron could have done in game 5... ultimately it falls on his shoulders, so, yes, not winning this series excludes him from goat consideration.

James is already getting grief for not taking the last shot. I'm sure he is aware of the implications and will do what he can to avoid the embarrassment. That alone gives me some comfort going in today's game.

Not a fan of the starting lineup change. Caruso yes but Green should've been out of the lineup not Dwight.

Lebron fans have had him as goat since 07. Nothing will change their minds.

I don’t think you can do that with Green, I think it destroys what little confidence he has left. As much as his shooting has been awful we need his defense. But, if he’s awful hopefully he’s the first one pulled and Dwight comes in then I guess.

I can't believe Lebron didn't average a triple double for the entire finals. it was RIGHT there! If he would have just tried a little harder.

Nothing. I think we should lock this and start a new thread next year. This one should sink to the bottom now.
