I hope it makes up for his origin in Attack of the Clones, because that was crap. I also wonder if he has to be voiced by Temuera Morrison to fit continuity. Hope not, because I don't think he's a good actor. Maybe it'll be in between him being that annoying kid and the adult Boba. I'm honestly still a little annoyed that I now picture Morrison under that armor in Empire and Jedi and they added his voice.

I love their reasoning: they didn't want a young cast because it would be too close to the mistakes of the old cast.

What? I don't think anyone cares about that. Everyone hated the new ones because they were mostly directionless, lacked even basic practical effects, were mostly bloated by unnecessary plot points, and included characters completely unnecessary to the world.

You forgot absolutely terrible acting. I've seen Val Kilmer straight to DVD films that had better acting than the biggest movie franchise ever. That should never happen. How Hayden got on board still blows my mind. The Lucas, Hayden, Jar Jar Binks trifecta nearly destroyed star wars.

It also lacked heart and emotion. Even the scenes that were supposed to contain that either tried too hard, weren't grounded, or you simply didn't care.

Any idea Lucas had for the new ones should go directly into the fire.

I do get it from a studio's perspective of, hey people hated the last three, let's not go there again and instead get as far from that as possible. much safer.

I think the only scene from the entire series that was worth a damn was the final scene between Obi-Wan and Anakin where he leaves him cut up by a lava river.

BUT the writing was still sloppy and they didn't properly set up why Obi-Wan would leave Anakin there to die instead of killing him outright.

I saw this too. Sooooo thankful. I gotta figure Lucas didn't think far enough outside the box in order to have it be part of the large cinematic universe Disney had in mind (ie Marvel)

The thing that is MOST surprising is aside from the trifecta above the movie had some really good and some great actors. The performances were horribly wooden and just flat out bad. How do you screw up what should have been a wonderful cast?

I like Ewan. Man we're about to get Jedi Fever here in a couple years. It looks like we might be getting 2 Star Wars movies a year soon.

I kinda hope not. Part of the SW appeal is the movies were such a limited commodity. I don't mind every other year, but even every year has me worried. I'd like it better if the inbetween films were lower budget, maybe even straight to Netflix movies. Darker and grittier to help build up the entire universe as opposed to just the few characters we see.

I have a feeling they will be in Marvel territory soon with two movies a year and multiple Netflix shows, etc.

I think Disney is going to test their might on this one. I think they're going to pump out movies quickly and see how popular they can make it.

I'm with you that I think exclusivity has really grown the Star Wars product. I think they're making a mistake if they flood the market with the movies, especially since the old stars are on their way out.

I'm with you. Give me shows on Netflix and a movie every other year. It's too bad money is the driving force because certainly they're going to hitch their wagon to a few stars and make as many movies as they can with those guys.

Behind the scenes footage of Episode 7 from Comic-Con. Real sets, practical effects, the old gang back together, yet so much new awesomeness, amazing video.

I love that the people making the movie are just nerds like us. So awesome. That's how you preserve the greatness of this story.
